  • goes well with heroin

  • Problem with Gold has always been comlimentary. It doesn't stand up on its own.

Christ knows why they thought bimetallic would work back in the day.

    Black n Gold or GTFO

One for sale in Cov for £2100

    nice!

Where though? I cant navigate that site. Like trawling...

  • Click on the link to the collectors market..

you will see all of the watches for sale by model number

Think it was 3/4 down the page

  • Couldn't agree more. And I'd say gold is becoming more popular again judging by some of the catwalk stuff I've seen recently. It'll probably take a while to filter to men's, but I'll report back if I see anything interesting at London Collections in June.

Lots of rose gold watches being pushed at the moment I think.

  • I don't hate many things, but there's a short list of things I do hate; cauliflower, the feel of your finger tips when you've spent too long in the bath, and rose gold

  • So, tl:dr.

What's the crack with getting a Tudor Pegaros in the U.K.? Not possible to get a new one?

Or, do I have to go "second-hand" from Blowers?

    Hmmm

  • Nothing wrong with gold in my view, although I wouldn't go for that big square omega. Don;t agree its dress-watch only material. Its certainly a modern trend that mens jewellery should to be made of 'manly' silvery metals.

^agreed, rose gold is a bit much.

I would wear a bimetallic datejust just to say a big up-yours to everyone.

  • 'Talk to me'

  • Why, have you got one? Dibs.

    Hmmm

I've seen a few places online that claim to be selling new ones with papers but they're not authorised dealers and I've no idea how reputable they are.

    Really?

    What's not to love:

What do you mean when you say "not complementary"? If you mean based on your skin tone then 100% agree.

  • ^ Very bad example IMHO

that is a fucking rank watch, before you even get to the bi-metallic issue

everything that can be wrong, is - bracelet, numerals, diamonds - argh

  • Yep, hugo, that one is a wrong un. Love the other, although prefer champagne dial for max swag.

  • Bimetal Rolexes all look moody to me...

Gold is an accent/highlight material imo.

So needs to be used sparingly and with contrasting colour as base (black, navy, burgundy etc).

FWIW I have an old bi metallic Tag with champagne face. (present) Needs a dark/contrasting strap! :-S

I'm assuming when we talk about bi-metallic it's in relation to the straps, case and bezels, no? Using things like gold hands, faces, etc. is usually done well imo.

I think fashion and tastes account for a huge amount. Being born in the 80s meant that in the 90s me and my mates thought that absolutely everything between 1969-89 was fucking hideous and beyond shit. I still think gold on the right skin tone looks good - ie dark. But if you're light skinned then I just don't think yellow gold ever really suits. People just get used to it out of convention.

  • A little bit, ultimately it is just good or bad taste. That from a 70's child. B-)

  • Ha!

^^ But surely you now gush over depeche mode and the Pixies?
