Anyone got a Seiko skx007 knocking about that they want rid of. The modded one that I have, has seized, and Alsals say it'll be £120 or more to get fixed so am hoping someone has an unwanted one on here that I can have to replace mine.
Let me know..

Got to be a fake... pics or it didn't happen etc etc
It was a BIN on eBay, and really badly listed. It's an RAF-issued navigator's chronometer watch for astronavigation. I'm amazed it arrived in the post, as I was waiting for the seller to say he'd received a (low-ball) offer of £1500 or something.
Seems to be absolutely fine apart from a cracked crystal which should be an easy replacement when I get it serviced.
I should probably say, this doesn't happen very often. I've been waiting years.

Amazing...

Fair play.
Im assuming that's a fair amount of ebay hours for that bargain? I wouldn't have known that watch from Adam.
-
• #11393
Was it listed as an IWC?
-
• #11394
I don't really want to say exactly how it was listed, other than it didn't say "IWC", but the owner thought it was from WW2 when it in fact dates to 1950. He asked me if I knew what the engravings on the back meant which was a bit cringeworthy as typing them in Google reveals everything.
You don't need to repeatedly scour eBay if you save a few carefully written search terms which it will search for you. They have stopped allowing "*" wildcards now which is a shame, but the other Boolean terms still work so you can filter the crap out.

Lovely. Congrats!
Proper pics are needed once it's all fixed up.
I often look through the mixed watch listings to try and spot a bargain. This one made me laugh recently: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Old-watches-for-spares-repairs-/281271767666?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item417d1a9272

Rodabod, amazballs. Really nice. And Corny, get a movement for $50 and swap the bits over. Or just buy a really cheap Seiko 5 with a 7s26 in it.
