  • Looking for a bit of advice...found the watch that I want, it's an Oris Artelier

    see http://www.oris.ch/en/watches/oris-artelier-small-second-pointer-day/01-745-7666-4051-07-5-23-70fc

Firstly, opinions - I love it regardless of what anyone else thinks but always nice to know.

Secondly, how much can I realistically expect to haggle on the price? RRP is £1300

    Thanks in advance.

  • It's on the main Oris site Huddo, which would make it pretty difficult to haggle...

  • I've been lucky in my find! Just heard back from the watchmaker in Denmark that my Grand Seiko is in excellent condition and looks little used.

Considering it was made in March 1969 I'm chuffed. Movement has been stripped and cleaned. It's a 36,000 hi-beat.

It's been pressure tested and is holding up fine. Plus time tested and it's gaining 2 seconds a day. Not bad for a 44 year old watch :)

    what watchmaker did you use?

I've got a price of £1170 from one shop without trying too hard - just wondered if this was enough off

  • ^ I can get you a very good discount on Oris if you're interested.

That one. I'm a watch noob, never heard of them before. I'm a magpie photographer, so just like shiny pretty things.

  • Don't listen to the watch snobs Huddo.

Buy a watch that you like. You're the one who'll be wearing it. Don't wear a watch for other people. Especially not a bunch of bods on an internet forum.

That Oris Artilier is very nice and with that discount it'll be a bargain!

  • I like oris. But I'm a tyre kicker

  • No - you're a window-licker.

  • Someone needs to clean off your grubby finger prints

  • Tyre kickers watch , in my experience .

    What does that even mean?

  • fuck knows

Thanks - and already can't thank you enough if this deal comes off!!

  • Tyre kicker is Time waster... Someone who kicks car tyres while buying secondhand cars without actually buying. Always has issues with the sale. Ums and ahs.

Good one to both of you!

  • Hmmm...being in the motor trade I knew the definition of it but struggled to link it to a watch brand...

  • So what's a window licker?

I'm taking it as something awesome. And kickass cause b&d thinks I'm like uber wonderful.
