  • hmm maybe 11am but i worry about sitting around getting more and more nervous

  • Really needs to be 11am I think to save rushing, maybe a ride around Hebden after registering or summat.

Or you can psyche out your female opposition......

  • yeah TOTALLY

  • So if I'm round at yours before 10am for my clothes, that's sound yeah?

  • Yeah no probs Doug, my son will be in until 1pm ish in case you're delayed.

  • Yep, the ride up Mow Cop is amazing. I did it a couple of years ago, when the route was a bit shorter. It's bout 30 odd miles out of Manc so would be worth a reccie. You climb 14, 15 then 16% for a mile or so and are faced with this wall of road. You get a medal for completing the climb without walking!

  • fuck it. let's do it...can we ride it first?

  • Yeah why not. If you look at the profile all climbs are in the first 30 miles or so, after that it's damn near flat. Could do a 70 mile circular ride from Manchester.

  • that aint hill

check out mount street in perth

the winners (ya losers - adrian, gus and glen - kenny in berlin/had the shits so bailed) of every perth alleycat had to ride that in the final west coast championship... i'm still paying off the street cleansing bill...

ooooh wait a goddam minute.... this is the LONDON fixed gear and single speed forum who post our shit with little complaint - i should post this on the perth forum... sorry, my bad :)

  • actually mow cup looks amazing/a bit taxing. i'm keen!!!

  • 65" fixed challenge anyone?

edit: actually i was in my 34/27 most of the way, almost trackstanding at times to recover.

  • i've sprained my fecking ankle...bollocks!!

whilst feeling sorry for myself i came across this:

    it cheered me up x

  • i felt pretty let down doing the cheshire cat last year. the route is good, no doubts about that. but the feed stops were a joke.
first one had jam fucking doughnuts before that climb, not going to help.
the one later in the ride had tesco value sausage rolls or veggies could eat (again tesco value) jam swiss roll. i was lucky that i carried enough museli bars with me.
considering the cost of entry i thought this pretty poor.

    there thats my
