1052
I rode that route that seth wanted us to do yesterday with the wheelers, it was pretty hard but I'm still alive..reckon we can do it next time we go to Yorkshire. One of the roads seth wants to do the other way to how I did it because it's harder and he loves it..
when can people go? when can you host us seth?
-
• #304
also can we ride to glossop after and have our tea there seeing as we are gonna get the train anyway and i issed out last time??? yes yes yes. say yes x
-
• #305
Yep we can go to Glossop no problem. After 65 hilly miles I'm sure we'll all love a ride down the A624 taking in Chunal.......

i take it that's sarcasm, especially as i noticed there are 3 10% hills on that road that I thought would be all downhill..well can we see how we feel?? i know i'll be HUNGRY!!!
SO, it's 7 weeks to ventoux and 14 weeks to tour of the peak. should we get some dates written in so i stop shaking and worrying??
PLEASE FILL IN SOME RIDES- plus a Yorkshire one. What about 8th August for Yorkshire (SETH?) there's a commonplace benefit gig on in leeds after though i expect we shall possibly feel too tired??!!
Sunday 19th July: Peak Practise (64 miles)

http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=12091 (60 miles)
is this too much after people have possibly been drinking all day?
maybe option B too and weigh it up on the day??

Dunno about September yet, but when we return from Ventoux, we need to be out every week doing hills up to Tour of the Peak. I might try and get some Tue or Thu evening rides up the C&F and that area in too.

ronnie, as promised, here is the AMAZING picture of Hinault that was i Cycling Plus...

Cheers for the Hinault one, was searching for it on line today. I thought that was Bono at first in the other one. Cancer has definitely done LA a favour or 2.
Yep might be up for Tuesday rides after work. We should also look at a longer Cheshire run in Sept (19th ?), to get a few more noobs/fixed/SS only people out.
-
• #316
on saturday 10th october we have a run as part of the i bike mcr festival which should be a flatter one maybe...
-
• #317
p.s lance and bono live in the same category in my head

and he is up for tuesday eves if we head over that way.

and me. didn't think of it like that. bugger.
BUT....i cleaned bob and got a shorter stem and a different saddle and i am going to racescene on wednesday to do their measuring service where they look at my bike and shoes etc and tell me how to be perfectly comfy on it..well excited..might be lured into a new italian lovely whilst i'm there on the cycle scheme..eeeeek! and my vegan organic SIS gels came today so that kid better get training (maybe)

Right - printed off a few route sheets, and some maps. It's a convoluted route, with plenty of scope for getting lost as half the minor roads have no name (according to Google Maps).
Anyone who's going needs to get to Piccadilly with plenty of time to spare. The train to Chapel is a through train, so you have to get to platforms 13 & 14, also need to have a ticket beforehand as they normally have inspectors at those platforms who won't let you down to 'em without one.

If you ain't bought it, this months C+ has a great recipe for what seem to be vegan friendly energy bars. I might try and make some myself.
