That was my minimum speed up Everest, blindfolded, riding a unicycle, without functioning legs.

Done 56mph on Hetchins down a country lane in Leeds, think that's about terminal velocity for me (not very aerodynamic)
Not sure about fixed, was doing 30 the other day on 42x16 (about 70gi) following someone with a speedo.
At 56 you start thinking this is when a helmet would make sense. Right buzz though hopping drain covers.

Hit 55 with the SSTC on Sunday going down Titsey, tucked, spinning the 53x11 and abusing Scarlett's wind-shadow.
Highest speed I've hit on two wheels, wasn't as scary as I was expecting. -

125mph in the 205, with a tailwind. Pissed oil all up the doors, piece of shit.

Which lane? I'm a Leeds lad - I fancy taking the challenge on my Bob Jackson!

I hit 60mph on a MTB with knobblies on this road years ago:
http://www.multimap.com/s/OdzN8GNA
Its an old railway incline which has been tarmaced - completely straight for 1km-or-so and something like 1:7. God knows what you could get on a road bike... -

49mph down here: http://www.heatheronhertravels.com/friday-photo-a-winter-walk-on-edge-hill-near-banbury/ the other day. A new record for me. Shame you have to jam on the brakes just as you approach 50 for a horrible off-camber blind left hander.

58mph on a borrowed Colonago Dream Plus down an extremely steep mountain road near Glasgow. It was quite terrifying as the road goes from decent to extreme accent rather fast!

Old Pool Bank, know it? Another good one to try is the hill down the Chevin into Otley.

Ah yes. The accents near Glasgow are indeed pretty extreme.

I can do at least 10mph! At least!
I did an Edinburgh to St Andrews cycle a couple of months back - at 68 miles it ended up taking me about 8 hours so that means an average speed of less than 9mph. TBF it was mostly up vertical hills but for god's sake I could probably have walked it in that time.
Whoops, sorry!
