Right then.
I've had a look at this route, well the Central section (Anerley bits) and the Western bit (that would be Fox Hill area). It's all do-able. BUT. We will need to start early at 8 at the latest. I think it'd be good to warm up around Anerley (down Farquar road, up Dulwich Park Road, then up and down Anerly via Crystal Palace Park Road, Westwood Hill, Sydenham Hill and Anerley Hill Road. Then into Fox Hill area. There are 4 or 5 short 17%+ slopes here. The plan will be to go up them, come down them, go to the next one, repeat till all done (possibly going up one at a time, I'm not sure, it's quiet and residential, but it might be good to do it this way RATHER than us all trying to get up a short slope and blocking the person behind). Then go down to the bottom of South Norwood Hill. Climb that and head over to Dulwich via College Road. It'll then be up to Canonbie. As I've not seen this bit, Pascal/Tom will you be able to help out on this bit? -
• #306
Yup.
(Sounds good) -

So do I. Does this matter? I'm still in anyway.
Thanks for organising Tom!

• #308
I have done no organising whatsoever! But giving the impression of having done so is good enough for me.
-
• #309
(Fox hill looks brutal. Yay!)
-
• #310
Guessing doing this all fixed is the order of the day?
-
• #311
Well I've not got any choice, unless I do it on the Raleigh (aka the heaviest bike in the world).
-
• #312
YES.
65 for normals like me.
67 for smiff.
80+ for 6pt. -

Cypress is worse, because it's at the end.
Milestone = ooh hello
Sylvan = you're not playing are you?
Fox = FUCK this is good.
Cypress = CAR YOU WILL FUCKING WAIT ON THIS ONE WAY ROAD BEHIND ME. SPEED BUMPS FUCK OFF. -

See that's why I was thinking of rocking something that won't break my legs. But whatever, I'll let bravado and good times win out :)
-
• #315
Tom, I'd stick it in the 60s.
-
• #316
I'll be bringing the café covers for the cleats. No shame in walking.
-
• #317
(yes there is)
-
• #318
I didn't walk.
-
• #319
which way up canonbie?
-
• #320
The "up" way.
-
• #321
Will it be ok if I get to Crystal Palace by 9.15? That way I can get the train down from Dalston and save my legs...
-
• #322
I dunno, I was out at 7ish this morning and it was great. I was finished by 8.30ish and traffic was picking up. I don't know what traffic would be like around 9ish.
-
• #323
7am's a bit early if coming from Dalston! I've just checked and there are earlier trains, could get in at 8.03 or 8.33?
-
• #324
get in at 8?
I know this makes it a bit "serious" but, it's cycling on urban roads, there'll be be a couple of us, it's hilly, there's loads more excuses, there's traffic, the bit around Fox Hill should be fine. Going up and down Anerley I can't guarantee. -
• #325
Ok. I may decide to ride down, depending on what happens between now and then.
I'm scared now, what are you trying to say?
Nhatt's done a flounce tho, innit?
