I do not recycle
I drive a petrol engined 4x4 which struggles to do 25 to the gallon
My windows are single glazed and often open whilst the heating is on
I dispose and buy new rather than repair
People think I'm some eco green tree hugging moral high ground veggie because I ride a bike and hate me because of itI imagine this is tongue in cheek.. although if not, I think you may be misunderstanding the reasons why people would hate you.

we all have a carbon footprint.. there is a calculator for every individual, family, business, property here.
http://www.carbonfootprint.com/
to work out how many planets you need to sustain your way of life..
some data.. i'm not going to challenge true or false.. but it should make us all think about what impact we make as car drivers and cyclists..
London produces enough household waste to cover belgium every year (2tn per person = 16million tonnes)
Demand for electricity in the South East is so vast that we need EDF (France) to supply nuclear power from Normandy in 2009 2.8billion kWh, previously 12.5billion kWh in 2008. we each consumed 5220 kWh in 2009
Majority of our gas is imported from places like Qatar in liquid form and will continue to rise as our own supply dwindles in the north sea. 80% imports of gas by 2020..
the Thames Water (80km) Ring Main completed in 1993 and currently being extended delivers 1000 megalitres (millions in litres) every day.
have a read from the twats at ADB http://www.abd.org.uk/ trying to justify there best to mythbust debates on climate change and enviromental impact..

hahahah it's like the clarkson crew had a brainfart and tried to enunciate their views.
Poor beleaguered drivers, everyone's against them! Everything's a conspiracy! -

- London produces enough household waste to cover belgium every year (2tn per person = 16million tonnes)
And yet Belgium is still not covered in our waste. It's time we got out of the EU and got on with the job in hand.

Why do so many people act so anti-socially in any vehicle or situation? There's unlikely to be any unique cause amongst cyclists.
I would say looking at the calling bad cyclists out thread, there are a few.
one walk through a tube station will show you that pretty much everyone has the capacity to act anti-socially under the right conditions. those places stress me the fuck out.
Ahhhhh this thread isn't about anti social tube users (and yes I agree and don't start me on the pavement and peds)

Putting it like that, it seems like a genuine question to big knobbed men. I mean the stereotype.
If under endowed men drives sports cars, what do big fellas drive?

I wasn't singling tube users out in a 'well they're worse than us' my point was that it's not cyclists who are anti-social it's people in general and the tube (which is full of people from all walks of life) is heavily indicative of that.

- Reaction to a stress trigger

Pretty much covers most of it.
Edit - plus what HB says above, it's just people.

Cycling home tonight amongst one of worst streams of hopelessly useless, seemingly blinkered, nodding, RLJing, weaving and wobbling hi-vis morons yet, made me think of this thread.
How can some people have so little awareness of their surroundings and their relationship with them?
(edit: also what he ^ said.)
(edit: but I was refering the the cyclists I saw.) -

MG - Bmmf made me laugh, hence rep.
Say something i find funny and I'll rep you.
Exactly. It's just a minority thing.
People say things like 'this guy on a bike cut me up' or 'nearly ran me down' because it doesn't happen that often. Where as everyone knows that when you get on tube, everyone's acting like twats and pushing in front of each other.
No matter what happens, 'other people on the bus' will always be a much more widely hated group of people than 'people on bikes'.
