  • The C Record Pista cranks with the engraved shield logo, as modelled by Hippy;

They are the road ones, with the hidden 5th arm?

C Record Pista are the best looking in my opinion.

  • a vote for middleburn from me.

  • the old syncros, used to be mine.

now the old DA, or older campy pista.

  • Sugino 75 all the way.

Just polish off the dodgy logo and you are away.

  • you can't polish it off. tried had to nitromors the bugger. strongest looking though.

  • Brasso FTW

I couldn't find a decent pic - google image user fail!

  • Gipiemme Gruppo Pista

  • Un-branded version of those GA2G, I think they come anodized and what-not to.

Modern Record Pista, wins for me, its on the wants list of mine

  • That said....my old dura ace chainset for my glo-pro will be sweet when i'm done with it....;)

i rode mine 20 miles and the pedal threaded, ruined the fkrs.. most expensive 20 miles i had.. never getting crap pedals again

    DUra Acea are purdy!

  • GAH , the gipiemme gruppo looks like the cheap cranks from Andel, Kazane and Alien.
    Probably the same.

  • Gran Compe

Not my favourite, but it is stunning.

    Ooh. want.

  • Regarding Campag's hidden spider arm, integrated into the crank arm, does this help in stiffness or is it reduced? Why is this not used on their track cranks?

edit - thinking about the latter Q - You would presumably only be able to you Campag chainrings, designed to take the sunken bolt on the opposite side of the chainring, therefore limiting options of chainrings you can use...

  • The most beautiful ever, was the TA Tevano chainset.
Basically a copy of old style Campag, but better. Havn't seen one in years.

  • De Rosa Anniversary cranks

  • By the time you get the chainring and crank arms they're similar in price to the Campagnolo.

are you sure? I can find those for between £90 to £130 (chainset) whether the Campgy are between £170 to £200.

I looked for the Miche crankset and the majority did not include the chainring and by the time you purchased it the total price rose to £140+. Cheaper prices were sold out.

Cycling Bargains are shipping the Campagnolo Record for £149 inc chainring. So it was a no brainer for me.

  • Just bought...

  • I like those stronglight cranks with the solid metal chainring that goes right into the spider, like a disk, that were in a cabinet in blb for ages.

  • Just bought...

I have these in 165 with a Surly stainless steel chainring so naturally I think they're the sex.

And how much is the Campagnolo BB? or can you use other BB? the Miche one is only £12 for the Miche crankset.
