  • Also, any word on why the water hazard was shut halfway through the seniors?

Dunno but I was glad of it after sinking half way up my shin trying to run through it,.

  • We may try and drain it a bit next year.

  • try the UCI youtube for the world cup races, but the regular weekly races are not commentated on in English.

  • Watch a few races and you'll get used to translating the intonation of the Flemish... It beats listening to McCrossan anyway.

  • I found at least two separate rocks (felt a bit like bricks) in the water feature, I didn't particularly think they were an issue though. The endless bumps at the top of the course though, Ugh!

Would have been fine on a singlespeed I reckon, so long as it was about 30"...

Great course, proper old-school. I really enjoyed/hated it, if you know what I mean...

  • I really enjoyed/hated it, if you know what I mean...

Hah yeah. It was great / horrendous. Brilliant, after the fact. Well done @oΜΌwlzΝ› and co.

Many thanks to @sumo and the gang for the lift over. Pretty happy with mid table position and only a minute behind dimi given I started at the back of the grid. Three way sprint for the line again was lols too.

  • Does anyone have a full carbon 1 1/8 canti fork with quite a lot of steerer they would be prepared to move on? Looking for something along the lines of Enve, Ritchey WCS, Whisky.

  • Soon after I had to submerge my feet in the swamp and climb the wall I was done racing, was just trying to have fun and hoping it will end soon. It was like Tough Mudder cyclocross edition. Great organisation, the course not so much.

  • Just wait till it gets muddy!

Speaking of which, full replays from Gavere are on FloSports (who may well be the responsible party for the disappearance of lots of Superprestige streams and replays on YouTube, as they have rights outside of Belgium now).

  • thank you!

  • Cyclocross. Sunglasses or no sunglasses? Discuss.

  • I think this is the MvdP approved solution...

  • It comes down to personal choice I think.

I don't, even though I wear sunglasses when I'm riding 95% of the time, as I think I can see better without them and, if it's muddy, you don't get reduced vision as mud splatters over the lenses during a race.

  • Definitely worth wearing on a dry dusty course, even just for lap 1.

  • Always sunglasses - usually with yellow/orange/clear lenses, who wants dog shit in their eyes?

  • If it's muddy, clear glasses the first few laps until the chaos has dissipated somewhat, and/or you can't see any more, then throw them into the pits. If it isn't muddy, no glasses.

  • Ride with one eye shut. If you get mud in your open eye, shut it and use the other one.

  • Had a nice 2 hours at London Velo Park this afternoon riding the mountain bike trails on my winter road bike(the road circuit was closed)

  • β€œIt was a hard fight with Van der Poel,” Schurter said. β€œI got a bit nervous when he was at the front. "

Holy shit. My jaw actually dropped.

  • That was a fantastic race. I couldn't believe what I was seeing at the start!

  • I think yesterday’s race at Cyclopark is the best advert for Effeto Carogna tape going. Can’t believe I didn’t roll a tub on all those off cambers.

Hope everyone racing from on here avoided crashing. Saw some spectacular falls on the last drop off the mound during the early stages of the women and v50 race.

  • Mine held too. Good number of rim hits and folding sidewalls at 20psi too. I think the seniors probably had the easiest conditions of all, given the course dried out over the day but remaining upright was still a major challenge. I had an awful start, got stuck behind a bottleneck on the first off camber section and was then playing catch up all race.
