  • It was right at the tread so maybe I'll get away with it.

Superglue it on the outside, too. Should be alreet.

  • Inner tube patches have only worked for me on tiny cuts. Anything bigger and they seem to bulge out through the cut. Tried thicker stuff but can't get it to glue down well enough even with superglue etc.

  • That's why I used a section of tubular tyre - flexible enough to conform to the shape of the tyre but totally unwilling to deform as an inner tube patch would, and therefore herniate out through the cut. Standard vulcanising solution (after cleaning everything with acetone) seems to have done the trick, also.

  • There are special tubeless tyre repair kits going around too.

  • Maybe I'll add a small bit of old latex tube over the top of the patch...

  • On the subject, any recommendations for a 23mm wide, tubeless rim, for rim brakes?

Seems all of Stan's wide rims are disc only.

Velocity A23s are good with tubes, but my tyres are pretty baggy on them, so they burp and are tough to get to seat properly when used tubeless (and that is the newer, tubeless compatible A23).

I'm happy with the Bontrager wheelset I'm racing on at the moment, but the rims are not available aftermarket, and a radial laced 18h front wheel isn't going to last long on mountain bike trails once racing season is over.

    American Classic?

  • It's got potential, though does not appear to be readily available anywhere, let alone in this country.

  • Must be something from DT?

  • Dt r460 db is the one everyone's talking about in the wheelbuilding thread.

  • and available for €35 each. That looks like the one! Thanks.

  • Dt r460 db

R460 DB is for disc brakes.

RR-511 is for rim brakes & tubeless, although quite heavy.

Edit - Didn't notice there is a non-disc version of the R460. I'll go back to bed...

  • Course is set up. 80% on the MTB hard pack, steps are included lots of elevation change. Should be quite a fast one.

  • Great course today. Fast bits interspersed with mud sections, each of which required a different approach. A worthy alternative to Bethlem. Thanks @owlz and all at Dulwich Paragon.

  • a different approach

I was running most of them. Am broken tonight, was tough.

Well done to all at DP, not many clubs can promote an event and have a surplus of helpers so the regular cross riders can still race.

Was good to see @Doctor_Cake racing, although she might disagree.

  • Just saw you won again, Jon. Well done!

  • Thanks Andy. Hog Hill in winter tends to suit my long legs.

  • Yorkshire lad Thomas Pidcock came 2nd at Hoogerheide juniors race from starting on the back row. Not sure what his gridding will look like at the World Champs but but further forward and you have to think he has a strong chance of winning.

  • just a beautiful pic from yesterday's race in Hoogerheide

  • Great achievement. It was such a hard, muddy race, maybe the gridding position didn't play a big part. Next week in Zolder, the course will be much faster and starting position will probably be more important

  • Before I book my train tickets - would anyone be driving to Sunday's London X League race from Central London and might have space in a car?

  • How do we return the green tags?

Is there an easy central pickup or do we post them all back?

  • Post them, but they haven't said where to yet.
