GROUNDRULES:
Riders' bikes must be in good working order.
Riders must have adequate lighting (normal LEDs don't really cut the mustard) to illuminate road irregularities with plenty of time for safe evasive manoeuvres, and to get home on their own if necessary.*
Riders should have spare batteries / lighting in case of emergency. It is also wise to carry the usual puncture repair/ tubes etc.
Riders should familiarise themselves with the advertised route.
Riders should be aware of aggravating train commuters, and be ready to ease the situation with diplomacy / compromise.
Riders should be aware of cars behind and in front. Fall into single file as soon as safely possible. Common advice is NOT to wave traffic through for legal reasons. Better to single up and let the driver decide when to pass.
Riders should have a charged mobile phone and a few other riders numbers.
Riders will produce baked goods on request of TNRC management.
please add & amend with all info intact

Burls yes, but über-lightweight wheels no.
I like my new everyday hoops though :)
How I hate carrying 2kg of tools/lights/water :(

well that sucks. got to cannon street at about 7:05. didn't see anyone on bikes. wools tells me i went to the wrong cannon street station. hmmm...
-
• #2411
I'm pretty sure Mikec mentioned something about him waiting at a wrong station along Cannon Street the last time he went on a TNRC ride. Either way, bad luck, Teddy. At least these rides aren't once in a blue moon rides. There'll be plenty more opportunities to pop that TNRC cherry.

• #2412
i remember this too

I enjoyed that one, apart from yet another contact lens incident.
I'm not sure words do it justice, so I'll try this:

scarlett, indeed dude, that is how you rock.
fuckin awesome ride that. fast and furious with three honest lumps to overcome and plenty of other action too.
yes, the group were strong tonight with bmmf, claus and andyp working at the front with sam right the way through the mosh of us behind interchanging and interweaving. owen, good to meet you dude, hope you enjoyed the initiation. good riding mate.
teddy, what to say. sorry that happened mate. don't be put off. probably by 5 past 7 the TNRC group were on the train. we have to be fast to take advantage of any bike space. wish you called me dude i could have reassured you we were rolling tonight. plenty more to come though.
some of the regulars were missed but at least you can look forward to getting out on this route again. sam, great work, it is a brilliant route.
fuck the pilgrims - they were going the wrong way

smooth.
everything was good. beautiful evening yet again. riding under a blanket of shooting stars and even time for a pint at the end. Great to ride alongside everyone. big welcome to Owen, top stuff mate.
Big up to Des after his 160 on friday/saturday and then tackling that...respect is due.
Missed a lot of good people out there tonight but as has been mentioned, it will happen all over again .
@ skully - saw your little frog friend at the side of the road. sorry i couldn't stop and chat with him, but he looked in good nick.@ teddy - there's only one cannon street station but nevermind. we'll see you in a fortnight hopefully dude.
right off to pop some steroids for surrey hills

Cheers Sam for leading us last night, I am sure the TNRC crew have got a lot stronger you know, what a blast that was, well done to one and all a nice tight ride last night.
Scarlett on his super trixiti was /attachments/13594 up those hills.
It was a lonely/dark ride back home after riding with a group but as it was a Kent ride I was back by 11:45, anything before 1am has been a bonus in the past 11:45! I was going to do another loop...

That was a lot of fun. Great route with the perfect finishing stretch, as jonny says, those pilgrims were definitely heading in the wrong direction. Top marks to Sam for putting it together.
My favourite moment was riding along the lane towards the third hill, glancing up and seeing a bat flying along just above us. He recognised a smooth group when he saw one.

Another great ride, thanks to one and all for coming down to my neck of the woods.
Respect is due to all those on fixed.

Respect is due to all those on fixed.
I thought I'd put some space between the fixed on that long fast descent, and you all arrived 2 seconds later!
Great, smooth ride, everyone in a group pretty much the whole way, nice combo of hills too... -
• #2420
That was a brilliant ride, great route layout with Star Hill as a primer to get the system kick started and nice and fast home stretch. Loads of fun in-between. TRNC at its best.
-
• #2421
hey sam, i forgot to ask - did you reach your target down Ide Hill dude?
-
• #2422
No, I only clocked 46.3, one mph slower than the other week. As Scarlett said, the air was a bit heavier last night, plus I also had MTB shorts on, not exactly ideal for cutting through the wind.
Still good fun though.

• #2423
Thanks for that everyone, great route Sam, great riding from the BSMM...
-
• #2424
Another great route from Sam - cheers for pulling that together. Brilliant evening all in, had all the classic TNRC components. Roll on the next one.
