2009-04-12 Sun - Easter Vintage Jersey Ride

I think Dwayne was considering it. I'll be fixed as I don't have a geared bike (and haven't ridden freewheel for over a year now). So it is do-able on fixed, but easier on geared.

Fixed it is then.... new bike need a proper outing.

Will the fact i'm a lazy, chain-smoking tree surgeon with a slightly iffy back hamper me too much or is this as much a social ride as it is a mission ride? I can ride fast when i need to, but not all freakin day on a sunday!

I'd say it was more a social ride than a mission ride. It will only be faster paced than the tweed run in parts as it is out of central London, but by no means a race. I'm slow and unfit as they come! As everybody has a routecard and there are stopping points, it is possible for people to ride ahead, but they will need to wait.

We'll look like champs, but will def not be doing the speeds!

Is this going to be a bumpy ride?

No. There's a couple of dodgy London pothole infested roads, but that's it. Any paths we go on are nice and smooth.

btw - looking forward to the next batch of jerseys to be posted up on Convicts Of The Road ebay shop soon.

Our latest eBay batch has just gone up at Convicts of the Road. There's a full zip Gelati Sammontana jersey, A pure wool Tour de France yellow jersey and assorted other wool and acrylic wool jerseys. We'll be sorting some more out over the weekend to load up on Sunday or Monday.
