I made a error, club times get you into any open apart from Nationals, for which you must use an open time from the current or previous season.

I use a random number generator to fill out my times, age and and my phone numbers.

Dowsett's FTP
If the public have this and his speed... has anyone worked out his cda?

There's at least a few people out there who already have pretty good idea, I'm sure that'll help refine/confirm their estimations. Of course, you don't know how hard he was trying for that relative to the hour.

I rode this event last year, there were about 400 marshals per roundabout, but defo do what Tester says. From memory the top roundabout is very weird. Be careful of the massive downhill start. Course is rolling DC. 30 seca starts so be ready! Nice warm up available up the hill from the HQ.

Must try harder: 3 seconds slower solo than on the tandem. Big course PB though and a 10w ish power PB, nice to get under 22 on H10/2.

Pretty sure conditions were better for your solo effort, my contribution probably amounts to more like 10s :-)

Nice one!
Did the K10/10F in rain and wind Wednesday, 20:39 off 112". I do want a K course <20 at some point, it'll probably be the K11/10T that I do it on, maybe the K33/10D.

Apparently I need to go round roundabouts faster. 19/325 on H10/2 Strava, 149/400 on the roundabout segment.

i would have thought that being fixed is a large limiter at the roundabout - trying not to get runover, avoiding pedal strike, pedalling and trying to take the best line to exit and get back in aero quickly is a lot of multitasking!

I really struggle with doing 180deg turns at roundabouts on fixed, it's pretty annoying. Especially as I'm on 175s so am always worried about decking it after clipping a pedal

Is the 3cm rule a joke these days? CTT are a laughing joke.
And so many people need to pull their saddle back a bit. It's not a triathlon.

What was your vmin? We dropped to 19mph on the tandem, but I only dropped to 21mph solo.

20.6 apparently. I do remember thinking I was going a bit slow last night, I'll have to push it a bit. I'm only losing 5 seconds compared to going 29mph, perhaps the extra recovery is worth it.

If it is, it's one being told by fellow competitors. CTT can do nothing in the absence of a complaint; at any given open event there are approximately 3 officials from the promoting club, only one of whom (the finish timekeeper) is likely to see the riders on their tribars, but there are 120 riders who either CBA to complain or who know that rigorous enforcement of Reg.14.d.ii would see them disqualified too.

Yes I think your last point is a good one!

I took part in the Silverstone 9-up TTT last night, was a lot of fun, never ridden 9-up before, found it much more like a road race than a TT trying to maintain the pace line. I had to ride fixed as my road bike was stolen when my garage was burgled last week. This was not ideal it turned out. Still, 5 of us got over the line and I was one of them so I'm happy with that.

Could have been a whole minute if I'd moved the Garmin off the stem

Any advice for improving stability at high cadence? I've never time trialled but I figured this would be a good place to ask. I ride 49x18 on 25mm tyres so around 72", and I max out at around 28mph. That's fine, I'm not fussed about pushing that figure higher, but rather about being able to sustain it for longer. Any ideas besides gearing up?
I wondered this. So if you're entering an open event, you only use open event times? That's what I've done, but I've never found any way of telling whether this is right or not. I tend to operate on the basis that if the CTT want to play their cards close to their chest, and not tell me what I should be doing, then I'll just make it up as I go along.
