Whats that wrapped round the top tube?
-
• #953
Bubble wrap and masking tape. To protect against swinging bars. Will obviously come off for races.
-
• #954
Yeah, thats not UCI legal
you should know that :)

• #955
And now the bars have gone and vanished...WTF
You can't hotlink images from twitpic, they don't really exist as files at the specified URI but are served as the output of a script contingent on the session variable being valid. /geek
Walser bars?
-
• #956
ah...... geek!
Yes - Walser bars (which we may need to raise....). Anyone know where I can get a 40 deg 26.0 stem?
Getting its first outing on Friday in the High Wycombe CC 10, and then the a3crg 25 on Sunday.

Where's that a3crg 25?
I suppose it's too late to enter anything this weekend?
-
• #959
a3crg is down in Surrey on the A24 south of Dorking. Too late to enter it now.

Anyone know where I can get a 40 deg 26.0 stem?
I think I have an adjustable 26.0 one, otherwise the BBB 35deg. ones from Parker in 31.8 are cheap and you can get shims for 31.8 - 26.0

I'll go and have a look - I have a look ergo stem, but it weighs a ton.

hello i want to try a TT but have never been or seen what and where would be the best place to start im in east london btw.
-
• #964
Although these days it is not absolutely necessary to join a cycling club to start doing time trials, it remains the best plan. I think most of the regulars on this thread are more West London, but with any luck there's some eastern types reading who can make a pitch for their own club.
http://www.ctt.org.uk/ is the controlling body, and they have pages of advice for beginners as well as full lists of events and affiliated clubs.

You've got options like East London Vélo, and Lea Valley CC, whose members do loads of TTs. A few Rollapaluza people ride them once in a while too. Also Hainault RC.
There's a series of evening 10s at Hog Hill from May, and the Becontree Wheelers evening 10s around the same time, out Navestock way.

Naverstock tt cancelled due to an overturned lorry on the course
-
• #969
On the Navestock course?
Oh dear. Those are tiny lanes.
-
• #970
Yeah, on Murthering Lane, about half a mile from the start, Police closed the road
shame, haven't really trained but was up for it
-
• #971
Did the driver go too fast and tip it over on a bend?

I watched a chap go off the front at Hillingdon in the E123 race this afternoon after 2 laps. He stayed out for the remaining 35 laps to win by 45 seconds or so. Hugely impressive.
My own race in the 4s was less impressive...
-
• #973
Out the front of E123 to take the win? Who was he?
-
• #974
An 'E'?

Just looked it up on the results - Clive Nicolls, High Wycombe Cycling Club. Seeing the results, it was only a Cat 234. Still, fair play to him.
