If the bike goes back together and works and I wake up early enough tomorrow I'm doing that GS Henley event on the H25/1

Alternatives to Nopinz? The temporary ones are sold out.
Suggestions on TTF are self-adhesive document wallets or sewing loops to the suit.
Anyone tried these or have a better idea?

I have stitched on elastic loops. They work really well.

Me too. Will probably still go for Nopinz when I have some spare cash.
Fitted the new upward Planet X extensions today, riding up and down the road outside it feels pretty good. Sunday's 25 will probably the opposite of that.

Apparently the Nopinz machinery is FUBAR and it'll be April before they're up and running again.

Ditto 56x16.
Although I'm expecting big tings from my bar plug, courtesy of @umop3pisdn...

Re. number pinning. How effective is just pinning a number and running a bit of tape (3M Magictape or similar) along the top edge?
-
• #9084
Putting sticky tape of any kind anywhere near your number would get you in lots of trouble over on TTF.

As can having an opinion of your own, that doesn't subscribe to the orthodoxy or worship at the altar of [insert name here]...

Apparently it's fine.

It is April.

Anyone know where the HQ is for the H25/1 tomorrow or is it just a 'everyone in the layby' kind of event?
-
• #9089
Ah! Some date in the future then...
Not for me and I don't know why I'm bothering: if you can justify a £200 skinsuit, you should be able to sort your own numbers out FFS.

As there's not much room in the start lay-by, signing-on might be elsewhere. If you don't see anybody milling about at the start, try the big separated lay-by at the top of Sunrising Hill where the 50 starts.

Both clubs running my local TTs use massive numbers, with only four eyelets for pins. They're not easy to pin in an aero looking manner.
...but not too detrimental to speed it seems. I'm surprised.

Reading CC use the Padworth Village Hall car park

Ta. Here already. Dead as. Why can't I be this early to events that matter?!
-
• #9094
How did it go?

I know it's impossible to say, but very roughly, what are tri bars worth to someone doing a 26 minute ten?
30 seconds?
A minute?
More? -
• #9096
40 seconds to a minute I'd reckon.

Back in 2005 I went from 27:24 to 26:42 in successive weeks on the H10/10 by adding some clip-ons to my track bike.

He PB'd.

Cold, bit windy from the NE, decided against overshoes (silly, took ages for my toes to thaw out) but it was dry so I used my nice shoes. New gearing setup seemed ok and the cranks I installed didn't fall off so bonus! PB with 55:12 (gearing and time).
