37 minutes up now. Half a chance he will finish a full lap ahead.
Let's start planning a hippy world champion jersey.

Staying up late and drinking beer: it's what he'd want.
-
• #7857
will he sleep at all or straight through ?

Just clicked over to 24 laps (432 miles). Just over 3h to go...
-
• #7862
just a knackering 3hr ride to go
-
• #7863
Outside 1h/lap for the first time, touch and go whether he makes 500mi.
-
• #7864
He'll need to average over 22mph. I can barely do that for a single hour. :(
-
• #7865
Shit or bust at that point. He'll smash it.
-
• #7866
Maybe. Some sub 50 minute laps needed now for the 500, but with a PB so far out of sight he might just cruise round and manage the gap.

495 to beat the event record ... well in the last 4 years
although different courses and conditions would affect it
conditions for this ride have looked pretty good minimal wind and decent temps -
• #7868
What is the course like compared to his last 24hr? Presumably flatter, but with no traffic assistance. Windy according to twitter.
-
• #7869
met office says minimal wind
but then again it's the met office -

What?? I just read this thread then checked the results and it says Meurig ahead...
72 Meurig James 30-39 m 25 0:18:55,46 0:52:12,84 1:10:35,36 21:45:21,17 450 20.7
50 Stuart Birnie 30-39 m 24 0:46:49,29 0:52:19,73 1:00:56,39 20:55:53,70 432 20.7

That says that Meurig has done an 18 minute lap, seems a bit suspicious
-
• #7874
Looks as though either timing has gone odd or James has overtaken him???
-
• #7875
Must be a mistake in there... those numbers don't make sense. An 18:55 lap for Meurig and both on the same average speed but Meurig 18miles up??
Come on Hippy!
Slow lap for Meurig, the gap is up to nearly half an hour. Willesden boys still comfortably sticking it to the rest of the world
