  • My intervals these last few weeks have consisted of pints and vodka shots.
Took another 3min off my 50mi PB this morning though which is nice. Would've been quicker but got lost a couple of times and my left leg still goes numb after 10mi.

  • You doing the Kent or welsh 12?

  • Neither. I'm done with the long stuff for this year. The club record will have to wait.

  • Would've been quicker but got lost a couple of times and my left leg still goes numb after 10mi.

What do you do for the other 508 miles?...

  • It only seems to happen during shorter events. I think I've got some kind of blood flow restriction going on. Probably related to the trapped nerve thing. Basically, ride TTs bikes as much as I do and your legs will fall off... :S

  • Good ride today, hippy. Well done.

  • Cheers. 3 min off the club's 50 record. If I could sort out this dead leg thing and not go off-road I'd probably nail it. :)

  • Nice work!
Must be over a bit quick for you though. No time to get into it and enjoy the scenery!

  • It's nice to drive out, race, drive back in less time than I'm usually on a bike. I need to take 'em a bit more seriously. I reckon I could take the club's 50 record if I actually trained a bit for the 50s (or wasn't hungover to fuck the day before, fitted the right gears, didn't get lost, excuses, etc). It's been 1:50 something since '95.

  • Bollocks.
Just drive to Wales and hope for a good day. Training is for time wasters.

  • Where's the Welsh 50? There's only two 50 options left this season anyway so even if I did train I'd still probably not get it right.

  • Oh it's the 25 in Wales. The fast 50 is on Newmarket? I think.
    Noob.

  • There's a fast 25 in Wales with an R in it.

I dunno. I don't really hunt fast courses. I ride what I can fit in between stomach pumps.

  • Fast 50 is BDCA in A district, which I get priority entry into and should probably make the effort to ride next season.

  • That's being run on the same day as the H50/4 I think but they're both the day after a wedding. There's a late one near Manchester. J5 or something

Resolven, Neath valley or Risca between Newport and Blackwood?

  • Ah, Resolven. I've done a few handicap road races which used the dual carriageway north and the back road south. I wouldn't say it's any more dangerous or safer than the average "dualled A-road with roundabouts" dragstrip courses.

  • Emyr, if you got into the habit of using archaic past participles, you wouldn't have that trouble with autocomplete.

    Has this been resolven yet?

  • Anyone know where I can get an ankle brachial index test done? Is it something I need to visit a GP to get pushed to a specialist for? Or can I just find some clinic in Harley Street that will take my cashmoney and do it?

I'm tired of this dead leg thing and want to find out if I've got Exercised Induced Arterial Endofibrosis ie. the freaky shit like Stuey O'Grady had operated on years ago.

  • maybe ask bluerip?

  • Good call.

You know a forum has made it when posters don't actually consider asking medical professionals. :)
