Chris, are you intending to run the 27 mile TT on the 19th October as a fixed event, or can you ride any machine you like?
The Sporting 27 is intended as a fixed wheel event, and my 'official' placings will only show rides done on fixed.
However, no one will be turned away because their bike does not fit the spec., so you would get a time whatever you ride.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who intends to enter, preferably giving me some idea of your current form so that we can have a well laid out field.

Been meaning to say this since Friday. Results are up Dan!
I saw - my result confirmed. Damo beat me by a goddam second!
Pretty happy with the time either way as a first attempt at that course. Will be back next year for a few.

I never said it was a poor fit, if it work for you, it work for you.
Another photo of Froome checking his stem out, there's a web page dedicated to that actually.

Froome's back looks like mine does, this makes me happier.

So the Prologo does not work for me. I thought I might have been a touch high last time, so lowered it and I was still abused.
Holy shit, that leg extension!
FWIW, I think these two things might be related. If you lower your saddle to a more normal position, you will be able to sit on it properly (i.e. on your arse, not your cock) and your saddle discomfort might resolve itself without the need to invest in a funny seat.

Now I'm starting to understand why people winch when they see my saddle angle...

Thanks tester, I'll look into it.
Though given my roadbike is a little higher, it's odd. But I'll come down 1.5 cm and see. -

I think some people (including Tops) have come down more like 1.5" from "classical" saddle heights in recent years, so there's plenty of room to experiment without even becoming an outlier.

Nerged!

In his book, Tops says how he tried raising his saddle in order to get a flatter back, and found that this also resulted in an increase in power. However, he started producing times that were way too slow for his power output, and returning to a saddle position 2 inches lower (where a bike fit had placed his saddle) resulted in a notable increase in performance.

2 inches is a looong way!
