  • Might have done, I was a bit of a grumpy miserable bastard after my run so I didn't hang around. Did you get the win?

Tester, DNS? Have you done a 25 this year?

  • Tester, DNS? Have you done a 25 this year?

    Yes and no.

I think Skinny got second place today.

  • Yeah 2nd to rob. Saw you racing not after. Was parked up by the bull warming up in peace and quiet.

  • So the Prologo does not work for me. I thought I might have been a touch high last time, so lowered it and I was still abused.

I love my antares on the road bike, and ride in pretty much the same position, and weight distribution.
What can I get like the Fizik Antares for the TT bike? I did have an Ares originally but it didn't seem to work in training. But then the prologo is fine in training but I lose all circulation to manhood racing.
The antares is rock solid, the prologo is squsihy with loads of foam, that the issue?

    Any ideas?

    The antares is 142mm wide.
    Nago is 136mm.
    Ares is 142 too.

Think I'll stick my spare Antares on and try that. Will have to do a 'race' session on it to see.

  • Worth trying an Adamo? I really suffered with a variety of saddles before, but had no undercarriage problems on Saturday.

  • Which version have you got?
They're a bit narrower at 135mm wide, so might be too narrow. Though no idea.

  • The older 'racing' model. I don't think you can really use regular width measurements to compare them as you don't really sit on the same bits as you would on a normal saddle.

  • I do. My road bike when I'm pushing i'm rolled forward on the front and flat back. My roadbike is like a normal persons TT bike setup!

But yes, I'll give one a go. Open to anything!!!

  • For short distance TTs (10/25/50), the Selle HTFU is best. If your crown jewels are the thing that's hurting most in short TTs, you're not trying hard enough.

  • Ha. True.
I'm not adverse to HTFU. But it's very distracting having to adjust every so often and is uncomfortable and totally numb. So if I get rid of the uncomfortableness I'll be undistracted and faster.

I think the prologo has too much padding. So will try something rock solid. Like the antares.

  • Surely putting yourself through unnecessary discomfort isn't conducive to optimum performance? I was having to stand out of the saddle for short periods before, not really ideal.

  • Any position c+c? Can't seem to get rid of my humpback, would a longer stem help?

  • nice machine.

Its hard to tell from this angle but looks like the head tube is quite long so maybe a longer and lower stem might stretch you out a bit more?

  • Yeah, it's not at all designed for tt'ing so has a pretty massive head tube, 185mm I think. Currently got a 95mm adjustable stem slammed in an attempt to get lower on it.

  • I recently switched from a Prologo TTR to the Spesh Sitero. Did a 100 - no numbness/pain whatsoever. Looks are heinous but can't argue with the function. Plus it holds my water bottle nicely.

Sit area is tapered so should work for many people.

  • Two easy hours on an Adamo Prologue this evening. Think it's good but need to spend more time on it. Seemed way to wide in the nose at first, little too wide come the end.

Pretty sure I wasn't sat on it properly as felt my glutes working like never before. Pressure wasn't distribute evenly for the majority of the time.

Difficult to get the feel for it. Any advice for those who use an Adamo?

  • Umop what brake is that? Want a 'centre' brake.
    &
Got a side on to see hip angle?
Maybe; down and forward. Would bring you a little lower reducing frontal area and open hip angle, but need side on to see really.

Made a few changes myself. For the better I think, hard to aerolab saturday, windy and rough surface in places. But the accurate aerolab calc, temp adjusted variables comes out at .198-.2. Still need to come a bit lower, which is going to be hard. Will remove spacers under arm rests,, giving me 1cm, as the stem is slammed already!

  • It's an old Shimano Ax. Not a particularly good brake, and it keeps picking up aluminium and scratching my rims but ticks the 'looks aero' box. I'll try and get some side on pictures sorted. Think I was going uphill at that point so probably not quite how I normally sit anyway.

  • ^^ Skinny, do think that your saddle looks a little high in the second picture, or are you happy with that leg and ankle extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke?

  • internet bike fit >>>>>>>

  • Nah not too high. I've tried it a bit lower, and a bit higher and that seems fine. It's still a little lower than the road bike. With padding added into the equation.
My hips aint a rocking so it's good.

  • how long does it take for Bexley to put the evening 10 results up usually? Still no results from last Wednesday..

Been meaning to say this since Friday. Results are up Dan!

  • Holy shit, that leg extension! if it work for you, it work for you (thought my brain keep saying "dude, no...").

  • saddle looks a little high

    Holy shit, that leg extension!

    severe existential panic

  • Hmm. Scoblefit.
