  • Painful would be more accurate..

  • Same thing innit =)

  • What can anyone tell me about Fixed gear TT? I wanna do

  • What can anyone tell me about Fixed gear TT?

Keep pedalling all the way round.

  • i think i'd be just as quick unclipping on the downhill. not sure the organisers would approve though

  • Keep pedalling all the way round.

    Don't stop!

  • ...believing.

  • Don't stop!

    'til you get enough

  • Are there any fixed gear time trials was more what I was asking?

  • There's always some people who do it with a fixed wheel bicycle, if that's all you're asking that is.

  • If you have a front brake you should be able to join all the sanctioned races I reckon.

  • Fixed gear tt'ing is cool cos even if you're not that fast everyone's like 'oh cool man, fixed gear, sweet time bro' or something like that.

All CTT sanctioned time trials can be ridden on fixed if you want to.

  • ^^ lol

Sure you aren't thinking of triathlons?

  • Fixed drivetrains aren't allowed in triathlons - They're bad enough on normal bikes, ffs.

  • Brakless Triathlon, smashing idea

  • Sick I'm going to try it out this summer

  • All CTT sanctioned time trials can be ridden on fixed if you want to.

You are required to fit a brake though.

  • You are required to be riding a road-legal bike though

And it must have a lockring!

  • The Regs are slightly more stringent than simply "road legal", you have to have bars >35cm wide with the brake lever fitted so it can be operated while holding the bars at their widest point, but I'd expect anybody planning to ride under CTT Regulations to have memorised them anyway :-)

  • I presumes because of the tyre rubbing this is 1st gen?
That's 19mm tyres only right? Or can you run wider.

The point I was going for was it's hardly revelatory that you need a brake, given that you need a brake to meet the verymost basic condition of your bike being legal to ride on the public highway. But yes, extra stuff also applies.
