The A413? I was on it Sat and Sunday.
Must have been somebody else I saw on Monday going slowly on a TT bike.
Yep.
Still time to enter the other North Hants 25, and at least you'll know how long to allow to get there :-)

No, it was Sunday and Monday (fucking long weekends).
Don't worry princess, as soon as you gave me shit about the late start time (I knew someone would) I sent off more entries for 25s and I will make sure I beat that time.

I might even bother to ride a 10 though I prefer not to produce lactic acid these days..

To add 2 mph to my average speed it looks like I need another 34 watts, from looking at todays attempt.
Does that sound about right?
This page can be very useful:

Edit- ok, that gives me a CdA of 0.36, which looks about right as the speed is almost correct- 0.5km/h too slow.
That said, I have no idea what the windspeed was last night, but I'm guessing it might cancel out as I was going in a circle.

Considering entering a 25. Should I?
-
• #3308
Do it.
I'm not completely shit at 25s (I am at 10s). I'd not have found that out just sticking with what I knew.

What 25s are there left this year, in the general SW region?
-
• #3310
Dunno about SW, I'm considering this one when I'm back up at uni

I had a go at a 10-mile practice thing on Tempelhof airfield today. It's pretty handy as there is a 5,975m-long loop that is marked out every 500m, so you get a good idea of where you are.
I made it a private Strava segment and apparently did it in 26:54, with a 52:16 gear ratio and a strong SW wind that made it pretty hard going. I think that does mean I'm ready to give a real TT a go, I was thinking I'd be pleased with anything under 30 minutes so this is quite promising.

Why, thank you, hippy.Looks like I'm not doing a 25 this year then.

27.11 medium gear 10... that hurt.

• #3315
27:38, not my best MG effort but just about managed to be the right side of 100rpm

I'm surprised I beat you, I started my second lap just as you set off and you were creeping away from me.

For the new page, and with the season entering it's last month, don't forget to add your times to the Forum BAR table

If my hacking of the forum table is right, Hippy has a National senior BAR score of 23.748"mph" following his 269miles in the Welsh 12h. This would typically place him between 40th and 50th in the final table. Not sure how many people have failed to complete a 100 this year due to the two late season event abandonments, so he could end up a bit higher this year.

Any TT's in London this week? I have an urge to do one.
-
• #3320
Sunday got 2nd place in the Welsh 12hr by about 500m. #ffs
269.669 miles in Welsh 12 hour TT. The winner did 270.024 miles. Damn all those red lights! I copped 5 from 5 before I finally got a green. Missed club record by <4mi.
I did win the Reub Giles Cup for best visiting rider & Marcher Trophy for Mersey 24hr + WCA 12hr mileage. PB by ~28 miles.

I never really got a chance to improve that fairly crusty Welsh 100mi. The BBAR this year was a minor goal compared to the 24hr so not too bad. Now I have a car I can get to some of the faster courses and might aim to improve the BBAR distances. Still not sure I want to do another 24hr..

When did you get the 22:05 tester? You must be pretty happy with that?
I might do a club 10 to see if I can PB every distance this year.. -

[QUOTE=hippy;3106641]Sunday got 2nd place in the Welsh 12hr by about 500m./QUOTE]
Wasn't it won by a 17 year old boy?
-
• #3324
Yep, he'd done a 220 or something a couple of years ago and then smashed out a 270. It'd be a Junior record if they had such a thing. I think CTT don't count over 50mi for juniors or some rubbish (like restricted gearing).

F11/10 last Monday. Pleased to get a half decent time on the board, but I should have done better; didn't recce the course, if I had I'd have put the 13 sprocket on, which I think would have worked better then the 14. If I do some training, get the right day and learn to pedal I think a pb is in sight next year.
Alternate career as Fakenger?
