@hippy this seems to suggest V718...

That's for 25th and entries have closed.
I wanted to replace the F11 I missed out on that was on Mar 28th.
Would've actually worked out quite well, with some sightseeing and shit over Easter. It's becoming a real PITA to schedule races and stupid long training rides for ultra stuff.
Next V718 is April 2nd and I'm supposed to be riding 24hr somewhere.

I'd stay away from the Bioracer suits...

• #11931
Hey, it's not mine!

you want a race over the easter weekend on the V718, I give you a race on good Friday on the V718, sheesh!
1 day left for the HWCC event on H10/22 but if you are only interested in a mega fast course then probs not best, but you could make a longer ride of it - my clubs riding over to birds hill for a fry up post race, which you'd be welcome to join us for, and you could head off on a silly long loop afterwards!

Yeah, clearly not enough races on the Easter weekend is there?
I'm racing H10/22 on Good Friday. It's my PB course. I had planned to add the F course to my weekend (Monday) and try to nail a new PB but they had a special condition early entry close on it and I didn't get a response to my email about being a reserve so no dice.
I'll be on the fast bike so won't be tacking a long ride on, afterwards. I'll go out one of the other days to get probably an 8hr ride in.

Not the correct thread for it but probably were I'll get the best answer.
Looking for recommendations for clip on aerobars with stack adjustment for a road bikes setup.
Currently considering the Zipp Vuka Alumina.

Zipp and Profile are what I'm looking at.

Zipp are about the best ones you can get. I like them. Lots of adjustability.
-
• #11937
The Vuka's are under 100 quid, I think - I bought a set just to pillage the arm rests. EDIT: £94
But these puppies also look pretty cool...
http://www.profile-design.com/product/aerobars/t4-plus-carbon/Both will probably allow you to get into the right position. Any other options out there? I need a set for my new build too.

Pads on the Zipps are huge and super comfy. Be aware that the zipps come in 2 models... one that mounts the extension above the bar, and one that mounts it beneath the bar. Above the bar mount appears to be more common in stores and is what I have, however the whole assembly has quite a high stack. I now want to go lower and find myself having to buy the low mount version because my stem is already slammed.

Measure first, buy once ;)
(says the dickhead that sold his Zipp bars on because he wouldn't need them...)

I've just bagged some Ventus, so my Vuka Alumina set-up is available.
Is it just the clips you want? Mine are top mount, bought them about a month ago.

I'd stay away from the Bioracer suits...
I thought they were "in the running"? Differentiated materials etc etc.
-
• #11942
Nope. At least not that version. Fastest two suits out there (<£300) rn = tripsuit and BP3.

clip on aerobars with stack adjustment for a road bikes setup
If your road bike is set up properly, you probably won't need much, if any, stack, but you might want some reach adjustment. The Zipp above-bar Vuka and Profile T-series have the elbow pad clips separate from the bar clamps, so you can move them for and aft quite a bit.
The Profile T-series can be set up with the extensions below the bar, my ancient ones came with enough spacers and screws to get the elbow cups just above the base bar with the extensions under the bar, and the cups have enough holes in them to get them almost centred over the bar if that's what works for you. Under-the-bar Vukas have little or no reach adjustment. -

Under-the-bar Vukas have little or no reach adjustment
Ah. Well that's annoying.

+1 Recommendation for vuka aluminas. The only thing I can add is that they also feel very sturdy which is something the Deda Parabolica bars I had before lacked (flexy elbow cups).
Also many thanks to @xavierdisley for the internet bike fit - my 15mm lower saddle allowing me to shorten my reach has made all the difference, I feel so much safer and more stable on the bike that I feel like I'm giving it more welly. Got the fastest time of the day on the hilly club season opener yesterday despite being about 5kg above fighting weight.

good work 8-)

I wouldn't dismiss them (remember @umop3pisdn is an Aerocoach minion so you can't trust anything he says) but maybe @xavierdisley (Aerocoach kingpin) cares to comment if there's much in it?
Not everyone tests faster with shoulder trips but perhaps the trip suits are different and work better for more people? I still won't be shelling out £300 unless someone can show me definitively they're faster.

Bike isn't built yet so not sure where exactly aerobars will need to go. Measurements made, rough prototype on other bike done but reality will dictate final setup.

After all the testing we found that you needed to have individualised locations for ATS placement on suits - that's why there are Open and Closed designs for the suits. The differences are explained on the website:
http://www.nopinz.com/product/nopinz-aerocoach-ats-trip-suit/
The Open design is the safer option (Closed will work up to ~18cm pad width) so that's why we recommend closed up to 16cm and Open for above that. Personally I have my pads very narrow but I'm big so need to have an Open suit. CFD suits are even more aero as everything is personalised.
The stripey fabric is a scattergun approach if you don't know exactly where to put the trips. We know where to put them.

Out of interest, will you be doing any academic publishing on the development of these suits? Obviously I understand if not, but I'd be interested if you did.
Ah, nevermind. It's not the V718 during Easter, it's the V810, a spoco!
Imagine the rage Hull would've felt when I rocked up to the start to find it was a slow, lumpy course...
