1. Does your post contain lines which start with three or more backticks (reversed apostrophes)?

Anyone riding the Catford & Bec double this weekend?

Any characters (spaces, apostrophes, asterisks, etc) in front of lines?
I hope some of you may be interested in my report on last Sunday's Bidlake CC event.
http://britishcyclesport.com/2015/eventsĀ/bidlake-memorial-time-trial/
I think most of you who read this thread would be interested in the Bidlake CC.
It's a fairly new organisation which has the primary objective of supporting the Bidlake trust.
Although this may not strike you as particularly interesting, the club's activities could be more up your street. Apart from the time trial mentioned here, the is an excellent bi-monthly magazine which deals mainly with cycle racing history. The magazine is modelled on Coureur (later Sporting Cyclist) which was a great publication in its day and a great source of inspiration for riders of my generation. The club consists mainly of second claim members, but it is CTT affiliated and does have some first claim members.
Perhaps the main attraction is that it's a club with a very high proportion of cycling celebrities in its ranks and these include (in no particular order) Ian Cammish, Martyn Roach, Frank Colden, Alf Engers and Eileen Sheridan. From these names I think you will see that the club is unlikely to get all its members to support a club chain gang, but that there may be other more social possibilities. -

ps. well done on the 30 mile PB hippy 8)

Hard not to PB that :)
Also a 25mi PB by about 5 minutes but I can't claim it. Doh!

• #11108
Hippy, if you ride the E2/25 on a good day you will go under 50 mins easy. If I can do a mid 56 it's a shoe in for you.
Any wind though and you've no chance.

If the H25/2 wasn't fucked due to roadworks I'd have knocked a good chunk off it at the start of the year.
Now I've done a 50min 25 (in a 30 mile) a sub-50 should be possible. Maybe I should just go to Wales and get it over and done with, then I can stop chasing PBs :)

A great weekends HillClimbing :)
I was just looking over the numbers for the last 3 events as they were all pretty similar duration (for me at least). The power drop off was quite telling - 415 -> 402 -> 383
The last two especially interesting, given that the one in the morning was 10s longer duration as well... No wonder I looked so fucked in the photo of the last one :)These kids taking the easy option and only riding two events in a weekend, eh @borek :P
West DC HC weekend 10/10 - would prolapse again.

Random first post in the TT forum.
Anyone interested in 24mm FMB Record tyres? Having some custom made, as FMB don't do these in anything bigger than 22mm but I'd like something a tad wider for a rear tyre... I'm located in Australia but would happily take the order and distribute - don't have costing yet but I imagine the more we order the cheaper it will become, especially as they're being custom made. I don't want to make any money, as long as you cover shipping costs then I'm just planning on selling at whatever they cost me (though exchange rate is pretty good for you guys at the minute.)
I'm down for two already. PM me if interested.
Haven't decided on silk vs. cotton but probably just cotton I think. @xavierdisley these have been pretty fast in the past, right?

Hounslow 27
Last chance to enter this event.
I'm on the point of cancelling this event because of lack of interest.
At the moment, so far as I know, there are just two people interested in riding and I cannot ask my club members to spend their Saturday afternoon on a TT with such a poor turn out.
I can understand there may be all sorts of good reason for not wanting to ride, but I can tell you that those who have taken part in the past enjoyed themselves.
So if you were thinking of just turning up to enter on the line you'd better let me know soon, or you may find that no one else is there!

Would have loved to race Chris, but I've got prior commitments :( Would be a shame for it not to happen.
-
• #11119
Sorry Chris, I'm unable to make it either, my wife is away that weekend.
To all, this is a great course for riding fixed, if you enter it you will have fun!

It's a great event and a fun course, I'm sorry I can't make it. Currently in death battle with my phd.

What do you mean?

R25/3L is the fast one right? What's wrong with it?
If the E2/25 course is on the same roads as the 30 I just raced then I'll head back there. It's closer. There's also Etwall (A25/11) which is meant to be fast yeah?
Anyway if I ride TransAm it'll kill my whole CTT season so I don't know if it's worth thinking too much about. I know I can do a sub-50 now so it's just a question of finding a course with decent conditions in decent form.

Would.

Its been banned for a year due to riders pissing in peoples front gardens by the start...
R25/3H is very similar though and hasn't been banned as it has a different start (afaik) http://www.mapmyride.com/gb/glyn-neath-wls/r25-3h-route-2611851
Rich Bussell and Natasha Cutmore (both RST/AeroCoach riders) won on fixed at Shelsley Walsh yesterday. Rich beat Matt Clinton by 1sec. I just managed to hold off Natasha! Media Velo pics
