I got rid of most of my crap.. still have some old bars and probably too many wheels.. but, really, can you have too many wheels or too many espresso machines? I think not.

I'm a little disappointed that you're all geared up with coffee machines and so few of them are fixed.

came to work on the singlespeed mtn bike with my super fat tyres running at a very low pressure. sorted! good fun too.

I was getting my bike stand out of the garden storage thingy yesterday and thought "I've got too many wheels these days". I made sure I banged my head as I closed it up to knock some sense into me. How can you ever have too many wheels?

One is enough. It's all about the zen of pulling a shot knowing that any second the internals you installed could explode in a shower of metal shrapnel and coffee.

just got back, well slushy out there now, but not as slippery, had to empty the northwave boots when i got home though, and got the obligatory snowball pelting from local kids as i got off my bike to walk down one of the un-rideable roads..
staying in the warm now, someone has however made a 10 ft snowman in our garden! -

As the snow is about 10cm deep out here I went into work on my MTB.
20 miles, mostly off road.
Heaven!
Crisp new snow, and pedaling along in a 50m bubble of grey.
No sound but the crunch of the tyres and me puffing.
last 2 miles were slush and shite, but Im off home now and its even deeper and snowing harder.
I wonder if i'll make it, or if I'll be found when the thaw comes huddled over friction heated brake blocks?Toodle pip

rode in with normal road tyres, was alright till I got to tooley street. the bus lane was covered in ice and snow, had to ride against traffic in the oncoming lane...
Prefer snow when it is white though not greyish and slush like on the roads now.
my colleagues made me swear to not ride home tonight :) -

Sorry... Poor taste I know - but with a serious message. You guys are crazy for cycling in this stuff...

I've got at least a couple of hours before I can venture home and the snow seems to be getting harder. Hopefully the roads will stay clear. Tomorrow will be fun. Today our IT director and then HR director sent firmwide e-mails telling everyone that most people couldn't get in which was simply not true. As a consequence, people didn't bother and logged in from home. As a consequence, our disaster recovery plan was tested and found wanting. Bloody marvellous. More chaos is expected tomorrow.
Positive side is that in my team, all but one made it in. Fear is wonderful.

Yep, after this morning's sliding about and loony taxi drivers tailgating me, this afternoon was a breeze. I ran the gauntlet of snowball-throwing kids in New Cross - about eight of them turned on me with a shout of "BIKE!" but they all missed - I'm not sure I'd have been too pleased to get hit but as it was, it was a laugh.

that ride home was okay. wet obviously but not too hairy until peckham rye. i agree with you stelle about motors being way too near if they are not patient enough to wait behind. it's not like they are going very fast so why they have to overtake.
oh and got some overshoes. stable door. horse. bolted. but they will protect me to south beers later.

Lots of Bromptons out today, it seems. And bumped into Lily Allen sledging down Primrose Hill, almost literally. See: it's dangerous out there.

my riding experience today was fine, dominate the snow free lane, get frostnip on my toes though, then when i arrived at my street, which seems to ahve been driven down by a total of 4 people, ended up, crunching/slipping/skidding thorugh last 10 meters.
only person who turned up at my office today, in the building there were less thatn 40 out of 400 on a daily basis and it had to be shut because the security guard hadnt made it in.

the Steamroller is in bits so really had to use 'public transport' this morning. Three cheers for the DLR though from Woolwich - until the train in front packed up at West Ferry - walked (slid/minced) from there to Old St. An hour later we were advised to 'go home' Three more cheers for the DLR as we took a magical ride over Docklands and kids chucking snowballs at the train ffs! The whole train laughed at that ... :l
