Clefty, you'll excuse me for saying this, but you are the man!!! [Figuratively speaking, of course]
Colliers Wood to St.Katherine's Dock, in this snow = Immense!
I tried to get from Catford/Sydenham to Old Street, but bailed after only a mile or two (21 mile 2-way commute).
Lady, you rock.

Just had a colleague phone from Crystal Palace saying he couldn't cycle in nor were any trains running. He claimed that they had a foot of snow. Pointed out that all the snow has gone from Central London but to no avail. South London needs to HTFU.

Fuck yeah . Made my way in from the Woolwich. The roads got worse the more central I got because there seemed to be less traffic. High Holborn and Southampton Roe are death traps rutty compacted ice all the way along west bound and north bound respectively.
I made a snow man at at 07:00.

My colleague who usually cycles from that way has just sent me a wimpy email saying hes too scared to ride and there are no trains!

Just had someone else call in to say he didn't want to cycle, can't get a train and is having to walk and may be late for a 10:00 am meeting with me. Showed no sympathy. Told him he should have set off earlier. It's not as though this wasn't forecast ;o)

Well, i'll post this here too..
Nottingham canal ride was great fun, interesting keeping skids straight.. I tend to push more on rear than pull on front which skews things.
Shame we haven't got as much as London.

I think it's fair enough not to ride in but bull shitting 1 foot of snow.
The worst hit was the North Downs where there has apparently been 10". I was in Woolwich that was 4-5". How big does you mate say his penis is?

Attempted HTFUing this morning on the basis of advice from this thread. Can recommend! Will HTFU in the future.
Drivers were great too. Im also LOVING people in the office saying "Are you mad?". Feels like I know something they dont.
That was serious fun!

He's a colleague and an employee. We don't discuss penis size with employees. Not really part of the job ;o)

The weather up here on the west coast of Norway has been bloody weird the last few weeks. Dry and mild. I am bloody glad I did'nt fork out for new studded tyres. The metal studs on my current pair have now all put disappeared, due to use on the clear roads.
In the meantime its winter wonderland in London.
Watch out for cars guys and gals, they'll be all over the place in those conditions!
(I find that cars give me very little room when overtaking in the winter, as they dont like to stray out of the clear tracks to the snowy center. Also, without my quick releasing clipless pedals + MTN shoes, I'd probably have plastic hips by now. I save my worn cleats for winter use)

Greetings,
Have just biked in from Tooting to Waterloo. What a ride.... not too bad, roads very slippy between Clapham North and Stockwell and then Belvedere Road in SE1 is like a skid pan, but apart from that it is ok.
Not really an HTFU'er but it still seemed the best way to get to work and being fixed, if you keep weight firmly over the back wheel , it was was lovely.
Nice to see no cars on the roads and those that are out only doing 10 mph.
Please take it easy folks.
Piste and Love,
Tim -
