I was there. Didn't spot myself in their coverage though.
Did you do the 260k route? I did the 140...it was enough! Great ride though, and sitting in the sun drinking Ename Blonde watching the pros on the Sunday was very pleasant...

Yeah 140k. The Baxter Tour doesn't cater for the 260k.

You got all the hills anyway! My mate did the long one, and apparently the first 120ks were just flat and dull. Great riding country in Flanders itself though. The long cobbled downhills were a bit 'bouncy', but the rest was brilliant. Popped into a few bike shops while I was there, all very well stocked.
Stopped in one in Oudenarde during the ride so I could borrow a track pump, and who do I find badgering the owner for vintage track parts? Jan from BLB. He got told to go away due to the 'Tventy Souzand riders here today'. -

They are flat and only 1.5k or so of cobbles, which is why I didn't feel too bad about skipping them.
I spotted a guy wearing a Rollapaluza cap on the Oude Kwaremont. I was wearing my Rolla shirt so went up to him and said "nice hat" while pointing at my shirt. He sounded Dutch or Belgian but I was in a hurry to get up the hill so I left him be.

My first post
I watch all cycling over the internet: http://www.cyclingfans.com gives links to live feeds of all races available on that day. Today a wet Gent-Wevelgem and after Tour of the Basque Country hill top finish, with Contador on his home made juice. Also http://www.youtube.com/user/Wielerflits
provides highlights if you miss anything. -

was 11:15 as stated by hippy but that seems to be weightlifting now... hmmmm? -

Looking on various European channels, coverage appears to start at noon or 1 pm our time with the finish due around 4:15 to 4:45. As the wind is against them, it won't be as fast as last year. It's a pity as the initial 100 k before the pave - apart from being a simply beautiful ride - can be where considerable tactics play out as teams try to get their riders onto the cobbles first.

anyone know where `i can watch the p-r? No tv at home...

Sadly we have a tribe of outlaws coming for lunch. I am having to watch in the bedroom. Otherwise I would have organised an Easter Egg and Cobble party :o(

Thanks for the thought mister, but you know what they say about inviting couriers to your house...I was thinking more of going to a pub to watch it, thought maybe someone knows of some posh bit of london that shows the cycling.
-
• #169
I was wondering about that, too, last week when the Ronde was on. Today it's no problem for me as I'm going on a ride, but I think that with some numbers off the forum we might be able to persuade a pub to show it on a big screen while we have a party there?
LBL, Amstel still coming up--might be worth asking a friendly pub. Can't remember if those are on Saturdays or Sundays, but with a bit of luck there might not be a clash with football?

Er? What do they say?

Le Bouchon on Battersea Rise is showing it [popped in yesterday to ask] - you can get frites and beer in there as well
-
• #172
Ha! Might be worth getting down there after the Vintage Jersey ride?
What's bike parking like?
(Oh, and commed for the pun.)
-
• #173
they've got railings around the seated area, it was fine to lock them up to them last time so should be alright today

Stuck a £10 on Devolder to win at 11-1 odds. Fingers crossed.

I'm thinking to head down that way, I'll be a bit on the late side, maybe half three, four, but it seems like the way to go.
Obviously.
