Did you grease it well up Bony M?

Open your third eye.
OK whilst attempting to insert a 110mm Shimano BB on my Pre Cursa I managed to erm... cross thread it and now it is well stuck. $hit, $hit chit! This one is having to go to the shop for an embarrassing extraction and here's hoping that the threads weren't totally screwed in the process. The funny thing is that the BB went in without too muuch difficulty and only got "tight" after a dozen or so turns, it went in a good way and won't come out, 8ollox!
I think my Dolan should have been called Pre Cursed - might have to bury it far away and cut my losses.
More likely the bb just needs chasing. A decent bike shop should be able to get it out and set it right.

Is that a Bristol bike?

I'm typically running 155psi on clinchers and considerably higher on tubulars for normal road racing. Weighing in at 90kg this morning I suppose that technically I fall into the "fattie" category as I'm arguably heavy despite the fact that I'm rather tall and by no means fat as such.
Admittedly high tire pressure do not yield a particular comfortable ride, and may occasionally need to be lowered depending on the quality of the road surface. I'm however somewhat puzzled how you can claim, if I understand you correctly, that lower tire pressure let alone wider rims in general will not affect rolling resistance???
I should add, that I run 22mm clincher rims with 23c tires, and 21mm tubular rims with 22c tubular tires respectively.
Totally off topic but... read this. It's as good a summary as any and Scoblism free. Wider rims (with all else equal) = lower pressure and no more tendency to pinch.

Is that a Bristol bike?
Nah Solihull, posted it here before, it used to have a brown saddle and tape from his old Charge.

ah ok, just wondering because of DRK sticker :-)

Just seen this awesome build:
Wheels aside, this is the upgrade I am shortly to make from my recently mentioned Dolan - which will be getting a good share of commuting and longer fixed ride duty.
-
• #963
tis a nice build, looks way too small for the rider though.
-
• #964
Look fine to me, it's just strange to look at because it was actually build to ride on the track rather than tracking the double yellow line like a nodder.
-
• #965
Pretty normal on the track.

To precursa owners : Maybe someone is using 53t chainring with some road cranks like shimano 600, rd2, how does it fit ? also what lenght bb are you using?

What kinda tyre sizes can we get in the back of an FXE/PC again?
-
• #968
oh around 32c.
FXE/PC is too big/long for you.
-
• #969
I plan to run a very short stem and risers, CX fork and front disc.
-
• #970
With your track record, I'd advise you to just get a Pompino instead.
-
• #971
What track record?
-
• #972
True dis! Pompino for so much winz. Pompino thread>>>>>
-
• #973
Brother, crashing and component fail does not ring a bell?
Wait till the Pompino cost £99 for the frames.
-
• #974
^when will that be? I'm waiting for that too. And also not sure about the whole Pre Cursa / Pompino thing :/
-
• #975
If Indra gonna ride to Cork, a Pompino sound like a better choice than a Dolan.
Might have to depending on the threads. I was thinking of the Prestine one as its only £20 or so.
