Does anyone know the brake 'drop' (or 'reach') for a pre cursa? Thanks

Sorry, in the drilled front road fork.

Big fucking drop for that low pro look.

Pretty very much standard on my road fork - Sram rival brake caliper fitted fine.

Hi,
Picked up my pre cursa frame in the Dolan clearance. Really excited to build it up, but was just wondering what the stack height should be? I have a headset already but the crown race is visible, there is a 3mm gap between the tube and the fork.
Cheers

3mm gap doesn't sound right. What is the headset?

Its an FSA integrated one from a previous build. I've ordered the alpina headset from Dolan now, hopefully that'll do it. In combo with a tusk fork.

finally fairly happy with my PC
I've seen a few around Kingston (where I work) with risers and turbo saddle... anyone from here?I've seen him around kingston but I I don't think he's on here as far as I know

I was kinda under the impression he is (tend to see him on the horrible junction on Clarence Street).

My recent build:
50cm Dolan Precursa clearance frame - almost same geometry as Specialized Langster 52cm.
Miche Primato Advanced w/ 110mm BB
3T Funda team carbon fork (supposed to be 43mm rake, may be 45mm)
Tektro front brake and levers, rear ghost
Deda Zero 2 stem 90mm
Deda RHM02 handlebars
BBB headset plug
35mm of 3k weave carbon spacers
Omega Mach1 de-stickered wheels
MKS track pedals w/nylon strap
Alpina headset
Alpina 'seat pin' (seatpost)
Specialized Riva saddle
KMZ chain
Gatorskin folding tyres

^how did you get rid of the decals?
I used a few very light coats of matte black spray paint and went over the decals. I'm happy with the finish of the paint now that it has dried it's neat and has covered over all the writing - just don't tell Terry.
I think I will be using the paint to fill in stone chips as and when they occur because the original paint job is very prone to chipping. I only dropped a plastic tyre lever on the frame and it went down to the metal.

Has anyone got any pictures of the new pc colours built up?

I don't suppose anyone else is waiting for the FXE to be restocked? Been saying October for a while now.
I'm a bit tempted to just get a Pre Cursa. Has anyone fitted one with Crud Road Racer MK2?
I presume that when buying a frame/fork from Dolan it comes chased/faced?

I've ridden fixed gear on a Langster since November 2012 and it only had a front brake until about a month ago. I had a crash during an "oh sht" moment and went over to two brakes. It has made me feel more confident in the wet, going fast and down hill.
So because of that I really would recommend waiting until the FXEs come back in stock so you can run a rear brake. I only went for the Precursa because I wanted a backup bike and I couldn't resist the clearance price of 59.99.
As far as I can tell the BB area has been chased and faced, there was no uneven paint there. I am using a Miche square taper crankset rather than an external crankset. There was no frame prep needed for the Alpina headset either. You will probably need a longer BB than the one quoted for your cranks I had to change from 107mm to 110mm for the Miche Primato to stop the cranks fouling the frame.
Dolan have told me on the phone that the FXE and Precursa are identical other than a different brake bridge, rear brake cable runs, rain-guard mounts/bottle bosses. If you have any questions you can phone them and they are really helpful.

Thanks alexellis!
I'm pretty confident with the single brake up front and I intend to do a straight parts-swap from an existing track bike which doesn't get ridden enough since I got a geared road bike that gets 90% of my dry miles.
This build is intended to not only replace the nice track bike (which can't accept mudguards due to a wishbone stay) but also my hack which is just simply too heavy (11kg!). As a result my primary concerns with whatever new frame I get is that it is A) as light as possible while remaining affordable, B) can accept mudguards - prefferably the ones I have to hand, which are the cruds, C) will take all the other bits off the track frame (Omniums, 27.2 seatpost etc etc). The ability to take 25mm tyres would be a nice to have - I noticed it says the FXE will but Pre Cursa is max 23mm.
Quite a lot of cool story bro there - sorry.

Fair enough. There is a lot of clearance for tyres in the rear and some people in this thread have even got 32c tyres in. I've taken a photo for you with 23mm installed - 25mm would go in easily and there looks to be plenty of mudguard clearance.

Great - that's very helpful indeed! I'm reasonably confident I could rig some kind of cable tie arrangement to attach the cruds to. Hmmm... well, if the FXE is out of stock on payday, the PC it is!

The next thing for me to decipher is which size to get. One of the bikes it is replacing (the one that I want to recreate the riding position from) is:
Tonic Fabrication Supernaut 'Medium'
Effective TT CTC: 550
ST CTT: 500
HT Length: 132
HT Angle: 74
ST Angle: 74Compare with:
Dolan Pre Cursa 52
Effective TT CTC: 535
ST CTT: 520
HT Length: 120
HT Angle: 73
ST Angle: 75Dolan Pre Cursa 54
Effective TT CTC: 545
ST CTT: 540
HT Length: 140
HT Angle: 73
ST Angle: 75Hmmm... both sizes of Pre Cursa have a longer seat tube, but the Tonic has quite compact geo in comparison. The 54 Pre Cursa is closer to HT and TT measurements of the Tonic so I think it will have to be that one.

What rake fork does supernaut has? maybe Alpina has less rake and that compensates slacker headtube (..)
I think u should go for 54, depending on how you intend to ride, you may be fine with bars little closer and higher, and if you want to have exactly the same reach and drop, just use one of those stem calculators and calculate what stem you should get.
More degrees on seat tube means that you'll simply need more setback.
Nah 130bcd is fine with the chainstay, i only had an issue with 144bcd.
any 103mm bb will be fine
