sorry mate but the first race in that clip is Theo Bos v i think Max Levi (bit hard to tell the German due to the poor quality) but certainly not Kenny v Hoy.

and i disagreed with a few points you made about the Olympic final but couldn't be bothered to explain it, if you really want me to i will ;-)

ps here is the video link

    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

  • Hum. Fair enough, I don't speak German, was going by the caption. Assumed it was best of three.

  • Hell, I did a spinning session down the gym one week with a bunch of randoms and they all thought I was a nutter because of the cadence I was doing. I thought it was quite fun!

I did a couple of those recently, yeah definitely fun maxing yourself out for an hour. Awkward to do that in the cold winter streets.

The thing I was looking forward to though was seeing if I could get to 160rpm and how long I could keep it. (the aussie coach mentions 160rpm is race cadence) however even though the gym is kitted out with the latest blingest bikes with digital monitors. The RPM only goes up to 139rpm. It then says "STOP" like a danger warning! Annoying because high cadence bursts is what I wanted to work on. I tried the freewheel bikes too, but they are the same, stop at 139rpm. I obviously still tried to max it, but its good to know your benchmarks.

  • I'm as skinny as hippy is fat ;)

Not that I'm paranoid or anything, but I just calculated my BMI here and it was 22.1. That's actually in the upper half (just) of my recommended weight zone. So ner.

22.2. But I'm quite unfit and still need to lose more weight (while training properly and increasing power, of course, not intending to starve myself until I can't push a pedal down). Normally I'm only really happy at around 21. Way to go.

The language being spoken is actually Dutch. ;)

    Ah, swamp German then.

Ahem. Oops. Clearly I don't speak that, either...
