this thought has been posted up, but here's trying to make it a bit more ordered.
The original ride was done with about seven people. Didn't have any issue with the police or the organisers until we got down to the finish down at the mall, where they wouldn't let us sprint down towards admiralty arch, but no great shakes.
I say we split the ride into times. People put their names down for the time most appropriate for them and their morning awakening capacity and we get smaller bunches of people riding the route. So say
6am - 6.15 start (tower Bridge)6.30 - 6.45 start (tower Bridge)
7.00 - 7.15 start (tower Bridge)
7.30 - 7.45 start (tower Bridge)
head for various greasy spoons at end..

Ok bit of a question, do we have a route yet? as I can't seem to see one in the thread.
also how log long did it take last time?
thirdly I know there are quite a few photographers on the forum so if anyone wants to join me and my camera I shall be heading off afterwards to catch some photos of people in the race. - Bob Dids

the route will probably approximate the london marathon route..
-
• #191
ok...
http://whttp://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2749968 that is our route from tower bridge, only about 15miles (which I'm sure is cheating but still nice early morning ride)

I'm still in.
I want to do the whole ride, from start to finish too.I have work at 10, so I think an early, 6 or 6.30 start at Greenwhich or Black Heath would suit me.

I think you should all do it in vests with numbers pinned to them for a laugh.
^^ Tru Dat.
There's a few people getting a bit down about this ride. i don't know whether it's the inclusivity (aka a lack of exclusivity ), a fear of getting involved in something doomed to failure or sheer realism that is driving it but what the fuck, lets give it a go. I'm sure if it goes tits up someone will come up with a contingency plan.
Although I like the idea of riding closed streets, I'm not too bothered. Peeps are saying 'what's the point of riding open roads?' I'd say the point of it is that it's the morning of the London Marathon and we're riding the route, that's enough for me. I'm certainly not going to be running it in the near future.
