Nope, still nowhere near yet. Though only interesting because BROOKS thinks its noteworthy, and is on their site.
I don't like it. But it is interesting that its not fixed, which surely is de riguer for cool.

it won't ever go near custom standards, and never will, it only going to have better component that we usually upgrade to and cost twice that.
why can't you give that up?

I gave up quite a long time ago Ed. It is beautiful to see grown boys throwing teddies out of prams though[t].

In fact, the funniest thing about this thread, was witnessing a guy I know that has a very high I.Q., totally losing it, and having his first menstrual cycle for all of us to witness. It was classic.
I never actually thought that custom and OTP are close to being the same. I just thought that one was way over-valued in comparison to the other.
But its like the old steel versus alu argument. One side like oooohhhhhh, the tradition, and the oooohhhhh feel, and the ooooohhhhh ride, whereas the other side like the performance/cost equation.
When our planet has reached a time where Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, men will say that women and robots are interchangeable, without noticing any difference. Women may then say that robot men are better.
I'm jumping the gun.

Theres no reason an OTP cant be better than a custom bike. But wether you are talking about custom building the frame or building a custom bike from a OTP frameset, then this is a considerbly more expensive process than mass producing OTP bikes. So custom bikes will often be put together to a higher spec, to balance the costing of the bike. This is not always the case though.
I've probably said this before on this very thread but....
Custom (however you drfine it) is not neccesarily better, it just fits better, than OTP unless you are very lucky.
This OTP is £8k and far better a bike then I will ever own.
Yet if I were to win one tomorrow. I'd swap out the saddle, bars, and maybe even the stem. Not because they are not good enough, but because they just dont suit me. -

If you ever wished to intellectually joust with me, you'd lose. I guarantee it, and so could any casual observer.

True and its always the ppl who spend the most who are the most trashy
In fact I'm sure one of those forumungers who always does algebra could whip up an equation ...
... something along the lines of a curve that the more you spend is directly linked to you lack of class (think about those old aristocratic families who have been passing the same, tweeds, gun, and landrover down for the past 100yrs).
