'throwing an elbow' isn't fine anywhere on the court (i know you like to do it), it should be shoulder to shoulder contact. So shoulder to shoulder contact on goalie is fine - which means you have to ride along side the keeper to make contact.

Elbows are techincall body to body, but if nothing else it is lame and we should try hard to have clean, shoulder-to-shoulder action.

Most of the best players in NA ride freewheel. I rode freewheel for a year and a half at polo, but i like fixed better. More stable for me and better to skid and ride backwards.

But it's a personal thing so definintely try it out.
