If I was reffing I'd have called a no goal for the intentional ram. No attempt was made to play the ball and the offensive player intentionally rammed the defensive player to gain an advantage for his team. Might be contentious but it's not in the spirit of the game we play here.

But as I wasn't reffing I'd have to say I concur with Max, it was pretty awesome!

Yeah, I taught all those fools to play polo. Seriously. That is the 818 court in LA, probably the best court i've ever played.

That guy at the beginning with the beard is Alex, AKA Joker, the guy who first put together the ABS mallet head with caps (the Concept III).

I mean, the LA fools, not the teams from out of town, of course.

In case anyone cares, i think where they got to on bikepolo.ca when discussing mallet on mallet is that you can stop or steal or take someone's mallet all you want, but you just shouldn't wantonly whack it. I support this.

me too, but how you get taken out is the point.

People in goal should be treated like anyone else on the court, ie. mallet swipping = fine, t-boning = not fine.

what about, heading towards them swinging right (or going behind goal.. i've done this, and andy called me on it, but i ignored him) and throwing an elbow?

its a bit like an arm in face on a header in football, and a double footed tackle...completely unacceptable when seen by the ref.

'throwing an elbow' isn't fine anywhere on the court (i know you like to do it), it should be shoulder to shoulder contact. So shoulder to shoulder contact on goalie is fine - which means you have to ride along side the keeper to make contact.

The move the guy does on the goalie at the end of the game (about 10:30), although pretty rough, is fine as far as i'm concerned.
