Chatting with the Swedes; we're agreed that we all hate Leeds.

Was that the Smoky Cacao?

It was.
Utterly glorious. These things are very subjective and fuzzy at the best of times, but I can't recall drinking a better beer. -

Ooh! Hop Hideout? I live just around the corner, will have to swing by.

A friend just sent me this link if anyone is interested. 20 cans for £19
https://www.flavourly.com/l/2GST21/
Edit: They came on Weds, I'd finished them by (early!) Friday evening. Not sure if that says more about the beer or me

Drink I'd say (or don't do any conscious ageing beyond shoving to the back of the booze cupboard); I've not noticed any real difference in any of the Trappist stuff I've consciously put away, and have had some disappointments (albeit with stuff that wasn't so much aged as a decade past its best before date...). This Christmas I'm planning to try and drink some of the stuff I've aged rather than just endlessly cart it around with me; some Thomas Hardy's Ale, various vintages of Fuller's Vintage Ale, assorted imperial stouts.

^ I've successfully avoided ageing a 2018 Rain Shadow this evening.

Checked out the new Mikkeller bar on Hackney road last night. Some very, very good beer but the prices are noticeably above every other decent beer place in London. Had a 1/3rd of Warpigs Smouldering Holes (£6) and a can of Mikkeller NYC IIPA (£12). These prices aren't outliers and seemed relative value compared to some other parts of the offer. There are a couple of £6 pints available but the Mikkeller (London?) Wit was a bit rubbish and less than half of it got finished
Very busy on a Saturday evening and clientele was noticeably differentiated from the majority of Hackney craft beer boozers. Not sure if this is the Mikkeller, Rick Astley or Shoreditch effect. Would maybe go again but its definitely not going to be a regular

I haven't been yet and probably won't. Think I saw a photo of the tap list on opening night and a pint of Kernel table beer was near the £7 mark which is pretty much robbery.

Far from the madding crowd of London - a fine night, with some Brass Castle, Marble "Pint", followed by a Maine pale ale I can't remember the name of but that seemed to have picked up some beneficial lacto fermentation on the journey, Beavertown x Omnipollo Mango Milk Breakfast DIPA, then these two bottle bad bois. Under £30 all in.
The De Molen is incredible, get yew some.

Just picked up a bottle of their Toffee Banana imp stout, might be a bit sweet but thought worth a try.
Also got a bottle of de Molen Ali & Baba which I'm really looking forward to.
