Brewdog Jet Black Heart - I've been drinking ths quite a lot recently. It's on a nitro keg and it's honestly one of the best stouts I've ever had.
Kernel Dry Stout (can't remember which hop) - a bit like a black IPA but not as good. Very think mouth-feel like soda water. Like a roasty black IPA.

I had Rednik Stout (formerly Kinder Stout) by Buxton. It was less chewy than the stronguns of late, understandable as it was just 4.1%. Still tasty, and just £2 a bottle up here.

Anyone at Craft Beer Rising tomorrow?

Old news I'm afraid.
However I'm going to try to convert them to small batch BITB versions. I'll post them if they work.

I've looked through some of those Brewdog recipes and they did some pretty clever things. For example, the Scotch Ale "Dogma" uses lager yeast.

Beavertown Double Chin & Espresso Stout on 1 can per customer at my LOL.
They've also got Jekyl & Hide (colab with to ol). Hard to resist but asking at home first as it's 16notes for 2 bottles.

^ yup, a mighty beer.
Spresso has a similar chewiness and was tasty. Resisted the Double Chin, maybe tonight.
After checking at home asked my local to put Jekyl & Hide to one side for me to collect, someone else had cleared them out of it by then. Maybe a blessing in disguise!

Maybe but good news I'm going to try a punk style ipa when I get my brew kit sorted.

Had a great time at Craft Beer Rising yesterday. It was incredibly well organised. Big shout out to new guys Old Kent Rd Brewery, tried their beers and they were outstanding, lovely chaps too.
Met the Forest Road guys. They are headed up by a ex Camden brewer. They were very cocky and sure of themselves considering they only have one beer which is a standard IPA. They brew in Belgium so another Camden then I suppose!
Went to buy a 330ml bottle by Spiegl from the Euro boozer bar to be told it's a limited edition and will cost me £35. No ta.
Other highlights: Electric Bear cherry chocolate stout, Cloudwater Citra IPA, Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropicana, Rodenbach Foederbiere, Wild Witness and Elgoods' Coolship Sours.

Didn't make it to CBR but went and met a few ex-colleagues after they'd been to the trade session and checked out a couple of the after events. Had a few of the newish Camden flue faker smoked lager which I enjoyed more than the new breakfast stout, good to see them putting out interesting new stuff after the buy out. Can't say I was too excited about the forest road 'work' IPA, liked the branding though

Brewdog Abstrakt AB:19.
Oh my...
'One of the most complex beers we’ve ever attempted. A blend of two barrel-aged imperial saisons – one black, one red – which has in turn then been aged in rum barrels, it is an enormous, intricate beer.
A baseline of warm, smoky raisin and plum, followed by punchy flavour elements coming to the fore – coconut, mint and blackcurrant. There’s a long undercurrent of treacle toffee, before the finish darkens to liquorice, star anise amidst a touch of honey sweetness' -

Anspach & Hobday Porter and Smoky Brown tonight. I liked the Smoky better, but the Porter wasn't half bad, either.

In The Other Room bar on Tower Bridge Road. It's worth a visit, very cosy and has a great selection on tap and in bottle. They have broken dream on nitro and do food too.

Just had the Broken Dream on nitro. Ermahgawd it's a whole different animal. It's thick, rich and full of roasted coffee.

Went to the Cloudwater tap takeover at bottle shop last, cracking beers and Paul was lovely as usual.
Had a couple of dodgy beers from other breweries whilst I was there. Bought a bottle of Evil Twin/Toccolmatto Kaleidoscope on a recommendation from someone. It's a bloody mess, no carbonation, no whiff of saison yeast and none of the brett funk that is mentioned on the bottle. Just tasted like slightly salty prickly pear juice.
Someone shared a bottle of Dark Daze imperial stout by Roaring Four which smelt like a special shampoo I had to use when I was a kid to get rid of the eczema I had on my scalp. It tasted worse, the guy who bought it said it tastes like bum.

Appreciating a Kernel Nelson Sauvin & Vic Secret IPA on the train right now. Not the best one they've ever done but certainly hitting the spot
