My fridge is full of heavy hitter beers. Better get rid of them before I clean up for 2016, right?
-
• #4728
Yeah. I must not have sly shots and must remember to drink water...
And eat things...

Keep meaning to go there, worth the swim?

Dry enough to sit outside today! Bit chilly when the wind picked up.
They have 16 casks, 10 or so kegs and probably 60+ bottles... the Gulden Draak was a fiver and 10.5%...

My old man was in Holland recently and managed to fit in a visit to the La Trappe brewery. He brought back a crate of Tripel, some Jubilaris as well as some Hoegaarden Grand Cru (from the supermarket). Drank a few to celebrate his 60th. He also cracked open his bottle of La Trappe Oak Aged, which was spectacular.

Bought some beers
Didn't do the tour as I've done enough tours now.
Have found a micropub in Buxton, they only have 3 taps but they are quality as well as having some bottles from Buxton, Wild and Siren. I'm currently drinking a Red from Torrside which is delicious.

^ you'd best drink 4 of them before January...
I'd almost forgotten to have one of these over Xmas.

Love that black chocolate stout
I'll drink them whilst I'm here!

It doesn't really show in the pic from last night, the Belgian Blue looks like ribena, has berries in the brew.

Good work.
Thought of a good one to help you through January, Dark Hopfler by Weird Beard. Amazing sub 3%er.

Ah not had that one yet, will look for it. Cheers!
Edit
Just looked it up and it's a milk stout, I'm lactose intolerant sadly. It's only 2.5%!

Which pub? Thinking about riding up to the Buxton tap house in the new year, might call in at the same time...

It's called Ale Stop on Fountain Street near Sainsburys. Really friendly guys and great beers also mega cheap.

Aww, that's a shame it is outstanding.
Had Jacobs Ladder (Buxton) recently which is a hoppy 2.7% also worth a try. My partner found it too bitter/hoppy tho.

Currently in Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Drinking their Alpha Project Double Crossed DIPA. I asked for something dank and it is suitably delicious.
All about the pacing.
Taking bottles to a house party, will mirror last year pretty much... also messy.
