  • Opened De Struise Rosse last night so disappointing, barely managed to finish it.

Brick Brewery's Coal Line Porter is really good.

  • We saw a sign for the Lost Rivers outside a hipster looking restaurant in Bermondsey. Didn't have time to go in and check it out.

I was eyeing up the coal line porter in hop burns and black today. Defo on my to buy list.

  • Old Crafty Hen, one of the few actually palatable beers from them lot. Quite enjoyed it.

  • It's how I convert all my beers into Belgian brews.

  • I've been hanging onto a bottle for a while (it was bottled 8/12/14). Glad to hear it's good.

  • Oskar Blues Death by Coconut Irish Porter.

You'll either love it or hate it. I'm enjoying it even though it is not one to pair with veggie moussaka, might go well with cake though.

  • Drinking bath ales dark side, quite light for a stout and very drinkable. Going very well with saucisson.

  • First beer since Sunday, I've missed it, even if it's just a few cans of speckled hen so I'm not out practice for proper drinking tomorrow.

  • Got caned yesterday. It was fun but wow, much hangover, such urgh.

  • Beermoth Cafe opened in mcr tonight. Was discussed a few weeks back should be nice, will be busy.

  • Cloudwater Ardbeg Aged Imperial Stout. NYE sorted. Reviews are either love or hate...

  • Just had three pints of Elmtree Winter Solstice in the Cambridge Blue after riding from London. So good! Like a pint of rum, raisin and chocolate, but somehow completely missing the claggy, heavy feel you'd expect from such a description. It can be bought here . If you're into stout I suggest you do.

I'm off to the Jolly Butcher in Stokie for more black beer.

  • Weird Beard open day today...

  • Shit. All the Rye Smiles have gone. :(

  • Got some more Beam barrel Sadako and Heaven Hill Sadako because I'm worth it. Couple more v standard offerings too. Drinking Faithless now...

  • Hippy, was that you in the black hoody?!
I came home with 2x Sadako JB barrel aged, 2x HH Sadako barrel aged and 2x Something Something Darkside.

Spoke to the new brewer who is from Dundee. Been there two months, and previously worked at Eden Mills brewery in St Andrews.

  • Yeah. Which dude were you? Lots more people there this time.

I already had those two BAs but got another two. The HH is new batch. Also got bottles of their new stuff and a duke of dank.

  • I was the dour Scottish guy in the navy Barbour, sitting next to the Kiwi. I stayed until the end, before heading to the Grosvener nearby where I had Fade To Black on cask followed by a Siren/Mikkeller Barrel-Aged Daydream (13.5%). Didn't feel marvelous when I got up at 6am this morning.

  • Oh, while we were there, Brian let us sample some Coconut Fade To Black straight from the fermenter. And the new brewer let us try their new Chai Stout. Both were excellent.

  • You should've said something! Well now I kind of know what you look like I might say G'day if I spot you out and about. We went to the Grosvenor too, to warm up. I tried some Siren stuff there.

  • Lucky git :)

  • :( missed this as we're down visiting this weekend. #mustplanbetter

  • Cafe Beermoth to take the edge of xmas shopping. Export Stout by De Dolle, 9% essential in the circumstances.

An afternoon on the Belgians would be ace.
