Anyone here ever hired kegs of beer (and taps) for a function before?
-
• #3780
erm yes, used to do sale or return keg hire from pitfield street brewery (rip) for free parties around the east end
10 kegs x 88 pints of red stripe - well, they needed something to wash teh pills down with..

Somethin' 'bout those little pills unreal the thrills they yield until they kill a million brain cells.

My mate is after kegged (and I guess maybe cask) beer for 150 people. Do you know of anywhere that does it in London? I've looked online, but most is expensive and pisswater.

• #3784
heh, notice i fixed up dave grohl good and proper so as to smite you for turning down a pint with me!! ;)

• #3785
Thanks. Yes, I did look at it. Works out usually around £2 a pint, but I do wonder if it would be cheaper to just refrigerate cans or bottles.
-
• #3786
what's your target price per pint that puts you off the appx £2 mark? what extra value / saving are you aiming for?
-
• #3787
camden town brewery do hires
-
• #3788
I reckon I could aim for £1 - £1.50 a pint via chilled cans/bottles. Perhaps not fair to compare as there's more hassle with cans/bottles, but it would maybe make me sway towards the latter.
I'll have a look at Camden Town. Check Sam Brooks which sounded ok too.
Thanks again.

could always look at those "mini kegs" (5 litres I think) not sure how much they are but some nice beers can be found in this form , recently seen hobgoblin and IPA ones

Sambrooks is definitely my favourite brewery in London. Very good brews and very friendly chaps.

Drinking a Moncada Notting Hill Summer. Big hops, low ABV, west is best brewery. Would bang.
And this is after a Stone Enjoy By 04.07.15 and a Weird Beard Saison 14

Sometimes weak pish mainstream cobra is just the tonic with a curry per say.

Saison 14 is lovely. Enjoy.

Had the Brooklyn Sorachi Ace last night, tasty but gassy.
-
• #3795
Not very impressed by it either. If you ask me, local 2 and local 1 are way better, with 1>2

• #3796
What's the enjoy by IPA like? I've been sucked in by the hype and will probably have to pick a couple up
-
• #3797
I'll look out for them both ta.

This will be my new off-licence at the new house! :D
Run by a Sikh family, they were asked by a couple of locals to stock something more than shit lager and cider. Some they got some decent ale in to try it out and it sold. They have been steadly adding lines since.
From the outside it just looks like a normal corner store.
Doom Bar is cack anyway. I wouldn't worry.
