  • Missus got me one last year for my beer advent calendar efforts. They're pretty good collections.

  • no, further north

  • Winter Sun by Meantime is good. TFL journey planner is shit.

  • further north

  • Iceland sell kestrel...

  • The country Iceland.

  • In a country that believes putrefied shark as a treat what are their taste buds like....but the schnapps does taste nice.

You can also get puffin in restaurants.

  • and reindeer and some other weird shit I seem to recall. 'spensive though

  • You can get reindeer in IKEA, not since the banking crisis. Still has an amazing friday and saturday nights.

Also beer was banned till the late 90's, but they do have a national beer day.

  • m6 cumberland, tebay motorway services, good selection i thought

  • Had a bottle of this. Ignore that it's fullers, as it's bloody lovely:

The idea is that they brew to an old recipe of theirs. There are a few different ones.

This beer is quite like a Scotch ale. Reminds me of Brewdog's Dogma.

Also picked up a bottle of their imperial stout which is supposedly very good.

  • Services? Wow.

  • I'm sure I've had a blue bottle of one of their Old Masters. Maybe it was another limited one I'm thinking of. Not sure now. Defo seen a few expensive bottles of theirs in my local bottle'o but too snobby to pay £7 for Fullers :)

  • +1 for Tebay. Nice deli counter too.

  • Made it to the Magpie & Crown, nice quiet pub, barman used to run pub near me in MCR and still goes up weekly to grab Marble beers etc. Plenty of craft ale bottles available plus half a dozen cask.

I only had a half of a Derby Brewing Co light ale, it was ok.

  • Had the Fullers imperial stout last night. Very good. Rich and almost gravy like! Totally battered me before I went to the pub. It's 10.7%.

  • Not seen that. Bottle only?

I'm off to Brewdog. Gotta help keep my shares value up right? :)

  • Yep, bottle only. They have some of the 2013 and 2014 vintage ales on offer on their website, plus the Burton bitter which I mentioned earlier, so I may make a £50 order to get free post.

  • It is not a chain services so does have some interesting local food at the deli/shop.

  • Tebay is amazing, always stop on the way too/from races up that way. The pies are amazing.

    Last night

Mikkeler x To oL- Underall Polaris- Nice citrusy IPA, would have expected something a bit more interesting from the collab though

Siren x Magic Rock x Beavertown- Rule of Thirds- Similar citrusy IPA- Nicer than the above, but still nothing mind-blowing

Summerwine- Beagle Pale- Always good, easy drinking pale
