  • Schneider Weisse Meine Porter Weisse

    It's like a banoffee pudding.

  • Barmaid "what would you like"
Punter "a pint of piss please"

    /facepalm

  • Punter settled on a pint of pale, with Vodka Lime Soda chaser.

  • At the Crown and Anchor in Brixton. Better selection than I remember. Had the below so far.

Brew Dog - Dead Pony Club
    Brixton Brewery - Electric IPA
    Brixton Brewery - Effra Ale

  • Pressure Drop - Bosko IPA. Wow. This is like fresh mango juice with a massive amount of hops. It's on at the Sebright Arms just now.

Thornbridge - Colorado Red. Just delicious. It's got a toffee thing going on. Tastes a little like rye beer. Quite a refreshing bitterness too; tonnes of hops. This one is on at the Red Lion in Leytonstone just now.

  • Revusiting Coop Freeminer. Lots of honey (24% according to the ingredients) going on.

Yes, Bosko is good stuff. I like their Pale Fire too.

  • Also had the other Brixton beer - Reliance Pale Ale. They released a fourth on Sat but wasn't in the pub. Look forward to trying it as the other 3 were lovely.

  • Doing this at the weekend, wanted to do it for ages.

A visit to all of the breweries in Bermondsey. Going to do it the other way round so I can go to Kings Arms for ribs after.

  • There's 6 breweries down there now I think - check out Anspatch and Hobday too

    Kernel
    Anspatch
    BrewByNumbers
    Partizan
    FourPure

Hmm.. maybe only 5.. I'm sure the guys said 6. Weird Beard were talking about opening up a bar there.

Old Brewery? Meantime? Bit further away in Greenwich.

  • Yeah thought there were a few more, cheers for the list :)

I'm gonna do a visit to Bermondsey market on the weekend i'm down racing at the Nocturne. I think after would be advisable. I assume it's open Sundays?

  • Just UTFS and learnt i need to go saturday. A few pre race beers then.

  • The breweries are open on Saturdays from 11. Meantime do visits sundays at 2pm.

  • Dead Guy Ale by Rogue Ales 2nd

I had one of these on Sat. First had one in New York (#namedropping #watchyourtoes) so was more for nostalgia than anything else. Really nice. I remember Googling it after I first had one and it used to be called something else but they re-issued it to mark the Grateful Dead re-union tour or something and the name has stayed.

  • ^^ Tap East isn't run brilliantly. There is no beer menu, or even a list on the wall of what they have on draught with a brief description/price/ABV.

The American Pale was ok. Maybe too much hoppy bitterness compared to the other flavours present.

  • Arbor Breakfast Stout (tasty, syrupy), to be followed by Fell Smoked Porter.

Winter still here in ale terms.

  • F.S.P. massively smokey. Like that cheap plastic German cheese in a sausage shape smokey. Should've had a taster first...

  • Crate IPA tonight at Crate. Tasted very good but also very different to when I've had it there before on a hundred different occasions.

    Crate, y u so inconsistent?

Tap East is awesome in most ways apart from the location. Westfield is a soulless venue (I'm glad I no longer work there) and Tap East would be much more recognised if if were in a better location. Does need a beer menu though as some of the staff are utter cunts at best. I did say most.

  • Arbor Breakfast Stout.

The oaty one? I remember having a tasty breakfast stout.
