  • yep esp i know that i'll have some sam brooks piss in the raven this evening

Don't worry, I'm going to be sent packing to west london on sunday. I'll see you there...

  • ^^
    That's me on the right.

  • tamsin?

  • I think you mean FRAN. Who is this Tamsin you speak of? Fran is real. But I meant Manny.

  • slaps own wrist

    sorry, manny

  • Am 'working' on my laptop in beerwolf now. They've got dark star espresso stout on. All is well.

  • 'working from home', first glass of brakspear's oxford gold slipping down nicely

this batch not as zesty or fruity, more malt, improved imho

  • Shit, the six hop ran out and they replaced it with dark star's imperial stout.

    Hic.

Also had a very fine Village idiot

  • Jamaica..?...

No, definitely not. One thousand million times absolutely not. The Caribbean is far more than just Jamaica; just as Africa is far more than just Nigeria.

Funny that both countries are so well known from each region, and yet have plowed the same reputations.....almost in unison.

As for the Mackesons, it is gorgeousness in a bottle.

  • My Jamaican boss loves the foreign extra, I did wonder where they shipped it to.

Only once in a blue moon that you'll find them on together, but Espresso Stout mixed half and half with St Peters Honey Porter is shit-your-bed lovely (but that's another story).

As lovely as either beer is on their own, I find the flavours overpowering after more than a pint, but cocktail style I can drink them until I er.. shit the bed (but that's another story...

  • Just picked up Marbles 1888 Ginger stout and Pitfields Imperial Chocolate Stout

Leaving an ' and ' incase needed for grammar.

  • Shere drop... such good session bitter

  • A few from last nights sesion...

Omnipollo. What can I say? It's very complex in flavours, almost a grapefruit / orange taste to it. It's from Sweden, it's fucking lovely but £4.95 a half!

Put it in your pipe. It tastes like smoked german sausage, winner!

Very hoppy and very strong! After this I had to go home...

Soz G, the Jamaica is my hackneyed standard quip, the rejoinder of which is * no, she went of her own accord *...

  • The 1888 Ginger Stout is very nice.

  • Does anybody make homebrew? I made some recently (from a kit, so can't really claim any credit) and was very pleased with the results. I'd be interested to know about other people's experience.

  • I've made it from some kits in the past. Some good, some not so good. Use expensive kits, follow instructions, keep it clean and you'll not go far wrong. If you're Gunna start mashing that's more complex. Again the most important thing is to follow some instructions and keep it clean. Good luck

  • Lovely pints of Harveys at the Golden Lion in Sydenham tonight. Harveys makes me happy. Plus, we were the band, so landlady Becky refused our money all night. In fact, she told me to "do one". I love Harveys. I love Becky.

  • Done one full mash brew, need to make more.

  • oh yeah the sweet strong one,
    Im back on the Original,
with treats out of Oyster Stout,
its all about the Iron which is part of a healthy balanced athletic diet.

this is excellent news - the yoghurt weaver has woven his final yoghurt and is once again a malty stout recidivist

can't wait to have a pint with you Brother

This thread has become my hangover confession thread . Feeling a little hazy...
