  • stopped by the polskishop on the way home from the supermarket. Picked up a couple of bottles of warka strong, a zubr and a perla.
Warka is fucking tasty, just opened the zubr - pish. Bubbles and fluff.

  • ^ Must be good. You're spelling has gone to shit! ;-)

I don't know why I said supermarket, I meant skatepark. I have a subconscious yearning for a very dull life, I think.

  • ^ Missed the joke thete dinnn'ts youse....

  • kor blimi idid dineye

  • Yerze yowzs didzze. buttz itdz koolz.

  • Any suggestions for a decent pub within easy cycling of the Gants hill area? My company has put me in a travel lodge for 2 weeks and I'll probably go out of my mind if I don't get out.

  • gants hill?! fuck, they really don't like you..

  • I know. They put us in ilford the last time I was here. At least travel lodge is a step up from the shit hole we had to stay in last time...

  • Travel Lodge is a step up? Now that'a a scary thought.

  • i would suggest you ask shoosh or nurse holliday, as my ilford knowledge stops at 1998, sorry

  • Tube to polo?

  • Tube to polo?

I has bike/mallet so Gunna try and get some practice in before the mhbp n/s divide tourney.

  • Cool, I think Emyr is about this week and next weekend.

  • For those with access to Marble beers, mixing Ginger draught with the Marble Chocolate (bottled or draught), makes a fantastic pint.

Also the Earl Grey IPA is immense - but so it should be at 6.8 and £4.15.

I think the Chocolate and Vanilla stout mentioned is by Titanic, and is indeed immense.

  • ^ Cool tips.

No Ale, Beer, or Stout in the house tonight so I'm drinking Taylor's Port which was cheap over Xmas and moreso given this bottle was left here by a dinner guest..

  • The chocolate vanilla stout I mentioned was this from Liverpool organic brewery.

  • ^ They sell that in bottles in Unicorn. V.nice.

  • Recent stuff.

  • And tonight's...

The Beetroot Stout wasn't that good, Anchor Street was better.

However tonights winner was the Bohemian! Very hoppy (I'm guessing Australian hops from the pump clip) and very refreshing.

At the risk of sounding misogynistic it's nice to see a lass brewing beer.

I'd love to taste more from the Off Beat brewery.

  • Dark Star Porter
How is that? Most DS beer is tasty.
Had the humble Fuller's Porter at the Mad Hatter on Stamford Street this
    evening. Meaty.

  • The c.1910 is very nice but it's a seasonal porter from Dark Star.

    Get while you can!

  • Thornbridge imperial stout was on, lovely but took a bit of effort to get past the initial (more than %7.ish suggests) alcohol. A bit like trying a whisky that's too peaty but calms down nicely before it's all gone.

  • Adapt and overcome, adapt and overcome...
