ok so i need a frame and forks striped and powder coated anyone heard anymore about it?
-

Tallaght powder coating do a great job (I've heard from both my LBS and a downhill cyclist whose friends got some work done there). As far as I know it's €120 for one colour and €150 for two

Two colour sounds good - especially if they can mask off chrome.
To go slightly off topic, I've become fascinated with Fast Boy Cycles' paint job on his first bike:

Does anyone know how this was accomplished? (He's not saying).

it looks as tho the frame was painted black then very lightly sanded this caused the edges to shine up like that giving it that worn effect. then a layer of clear coat for protection.

Looks like an ink or a stain to me, almost like runny annodising.
If you found something similar to gun blueing dye or ink but more permanent that would get an effect like that. -
• #39
It's done the same way you do gun barrels...
-
• #40
Ah the country man steps in..
I didnt think that that process was very permanent...But then again I have never re-done it to any of mine and they are holding up fine, granted they dont get much time in the rain. -

I like it. Although, there is a tinge of Games Workshop modelling about it, I've just noticed.
(Anyone? Anyone? I'll get my coat).
-
• #42
Yeah I do know what you mean.
But this is life sized and real, therefore removing any ties:D
