  • Of course, even if you do get fat(ter) it's unlikely you'll suddenly start pushing any material-property-challenging power. While rolling to the pub on your Boras.

    #flabbylegsnotfastlegs

    fatty fatty fat fat.

  • How about stiffness, I might get fat or something?
If the chainrings are really an option then I'd save a considerable sum over buying a new chainset.

    I want to believe!

You don't put out enough power to concern yourself with stiffness. #fuckingwhippet

  • got there first! faster than hippy!

  • Sneaky edit:
Assuming you didn't have any mechanicals owing to this setup?

One was a crit bike, one was a TT bike.
I don't recall any gearing issues when racing that weren't a result of a crash or something stupid on my part.

  • Also, "used to". Past tense. You don't any more or you don't ride 24s anymore?

The 52T is on a bike in Oz, so it only gets used when I go back and the 50T is back in storage as I'm riding shorter events now so the 53T is back on.

  • got there first! faster than hippy!

I responded three times to your one though. #endurancewins

  • And I had a piss.

  • No point going hard once you're past the finish line :/

  • So I'm defo winning this one.

  • No wee stops!

  • No point going hard once you're past the finish line :/

That what you tell your missus? :)

  • No wee stops!

    Who said I stop?

  • mumble mumble mumble. Is it pub time yet?

  • :)

  • Pub quiz tonight.

  • You going to keep answering questions once everyone's gone home there too?
    #endurancepubquizzing

  • So yeah, just buy a nice Shimano crankset and fit any of the Shimano chainrings you can buy separately and use a Shimano cassette and all will be well in the world.

  • ^this. But with some SRAMs thrown in to the sentence for good measure.

  • You going to keep answering questions once everyone's gone home there too?

    Always.

Especially "what the fuck are you still doing in here?"

  • it's unlikely you'll suddenly start pushing any material-property-challenging power

You don't put out enough power to concern yourself with stiffness

This is what I needed. Ta.

  • I AM KING FAT
    Quite.

  • I LOVE GRIPSHIFT
Is that the same as coming out as a rollerblader to your friends and family?

  • This is what I needed. Ta.

Only thing that I am wondering about is stiffness of rings and electronic front shifting- Di2 works best with stiffest of stiff rings.

Quite possibly not a concern of yours, but if you did go Campag EPS (afterall, what could possibly go wrong with Italian electronics?) then that might be something to think about.

  • I LOVE GRIPPING HIPPY'S FAT
    That explains quite a lot.

  • AndyP is here!
He might actually have something useful to say.
