Back on the Japanese tip, have you seen Samurai Champloo???? Fucking amazing! My cousin set me onto it... Samurai Manga set to hip-hop soundtrack by Nujabes and Fat Jon. If you have not seen it, I recommend it sooo highly. It just fits. I'll find a vid.

dj shadow did a colaboration the Shepard Fairey years ago. The Obay DJ shadow t-shirts with an (poor in my opinion) album thrown in as well. Good t-shirts though.

It's a really good watching the bonus features are amazing as well.
I think you can pick up the dvd pretty cheap these days as well.

the Hieatts sold howies to Timberland - so a sell-out, then presumably with the cash, Clare/David started the Do Lectures, and now more recently another company: HIUT (http://hiutdenim.co.uk)

howies has since been bought-back by its management, to operate as an independent company :-)

Shadow went down a bit in my estimation when he did that Keane colaboration remix, about the same time as The Private Press. It was awful. He admits that now.

Definitely has become a brand, one which I bought into for a while... I got one if the Obey coaches jackets, an original of the ltd edition numbered "diminishing returns", sweatband (still unused!) etc etc, then drifted away from it all when The Outsider was released, just wasn't for my liking and my taste for the merch faded too.

His Endtroducing / Unkle / Private Press tour gig set was one of the best live performances I have ever seen, hard to keep up that level of production for all future albums though.

Played "the number song" at the bmx track last night, still love it and the kids didn't complain, the youth workers same age as me were loving the tune too.

Dj Krush was and remains awesome too - Holonic & Code 4109 both great. Played Kemuri out at my vinyl only birthday party last month.

Anyone heard the Scratch Perverts / Unkle breezeblock set (from about 1999 I think)? Worth a download from Pearson Towers... hearing that.. changed my life.
