top one's my bag!
is it the same colour as the bottom one? i think i had a bit of retarded moment, they are in totally different lights! nice bag btw, have you ever tried a archies grobag, could you compare them? -
• #553
mine shits all over that archie's crap :P
nah, just teasing. i've only worn a grobag for about 5 mins - not on the bike.
i had a few issues with my bag. although extremely well made, a couple of things stop the bag from getting the full 10/10. Their service and communication was outstanding, i have to say. the colours were olive drab and red wine.

+1
Support local people and industry, especially when their product is at least as good, if not significantly better than that from overseas.

alright, alright - i don't want to get into a free trade debate - the man just needs a square meal.
he's built like a match with the wood shaved off.:)

No free trade debate. An environmental debate, perhaps? Why buy something from the other side of the world when you can buy it locally? Reduced shipping*, keep local people employed, etc, etc.
*Yes, this is dependent on where the materials come from...
-
• #562
haha, and as well, scott is a legend!

I’ve been testing these out for a while now so thought I’d post a quick review on how they’ve been working out.
Overall I’ve been really happy with them. The adjustable strap, which secures with Velcro, is long enough to be attached to a range of posts making them practical and convenient for pretty much any location.
The two straps, which are wide enough to feel really sturdy yet light enough to feel comfortable, both have Velcro running across the full width which means when in use, they feel completely secure but it’s possible to remove them yourself if necessary. It also makes them very quick and easy to slip on and adjust. The standard strap material is perfect for this purpose as it feels tough but smooth, so no risk of friction.
The Archie’s logo is a nice touch and adds an element of playfulness to the design. Could be worth considering custom colours for future models though this could be distracting for some.
In conclusion, another excellent product with the usual high quality we’ve come to expect from scott not scot’s work.

I'd just like to put up my own little testimonial after borrowing an archies that scott himself very kindly lent me for a couple of weeks.
In this time it carried a full week's worth of clothing (which for a fairly metro person is saying something), got rained on mentally and kept it all dry, held a load of camera gear really comfortably, and folded down enough to be usable for a night to the pub.
I found the way it fit was pretty perfect, although for a short arse like me, some of the straps could have been a bit shorter to keep the load higher up more easily. When heavily loaded, there was a minimum of fuss, the weight was in the right place for there to be no real swinging issues-the cross strap system worked perfectly (although, I have never used another bag, I can't imagine much improvement to be had.) It worked well enough for the descent of cheddar gorge, fully loaded, fixed, in the dark, effectively brakeless-if you've ever seen my bike you'll know what that means, that was totally fine, even with the big load. There was honestly not much that I would have moaned about. Obv, sweaty back in the sun, but there's not much to be done for that is there?Cheers scott :) I'm going to see if I can get the cash for an order soon.

Bedpost restraints. Ha.
Sounds like astroturfing to me. Someone pretending to be a real member of the grassroots but who in reality works for Archie's Grobags.
