What's the cheapest GPS watch around - I need a temporary replacement while my 910xt goes back to be replaced.
All I need it to do is start / lap / stop, and show distance / pace / time.

@TW
@Sainsburys_Ed is trying to shift a garmin FR10 for £45 -
• #9704
I assume you couldn't fix the issue with your 910xt then?...
-
• #9705
Nice one - I'll give him a shout.

It's been due for replacement for a while, as the barometer is bollocksed anyway. It's inability to upload data files was just the icing on the cake.

Cross country season starts tomorrow.
Pasta and two pints of guiness for tea.

Fish n Chips plus All Day IPA here. Bit of rain here has softened the ground up nicely.

FR10, Timex Easy Trainer, or perhaps your phone with a suitable case?
Or: A 910XT from somewhere with a, err, good returns policy.. >.>

Went out and ate calamari and drank Leffe instead...

Hope the XC crew had fun wherever it was at.
Woodbank Park lived up to it's reputation, lap 3 the bank was making plenty walk.

Coulsdon was also fun. A bit of everything, off camber slopes, rocky tree lined descents, steep ish hills, if they had made us jump the log it would have been perfect.
good luck to all half marathoners today. conditions look good.

1st run in 3 months...
I need to run more. -
• #9715
Sorry @TW the 10 has gone I'm afraid...
I still have a 910, but that's probably a bit more than you want to spend...
Paced at the kingston breakfast run today, and CEP donated a whole pile of socks for us which was an added bonus, really enjoy the event as it's very slick and people are always so nice and polite at the end coming back to thank pacers!
Good feelings, and 16 miles felt pretty easy!
Winner!

1 hour 39 minutes and 58 seconds for a half marathon distance on my long Sunday run today. I'm quite pleased with that after the disappointment of not setting a PB at park run yesterday.

Last long run before before Snowdon Marathon this morning, 20.4 miles in 2hr 30 mins. Only 2 weeks to go. Can't wait :)

I've not managed to get my one last long run in for Beachy Head (same weekend as Snowdon), and I've done nowhere near enough hill work. Too late to do anything but maintain now though.

Disappointing half marathon this weekend, for reasons both in and out of my control. Felt completely dispirited yesterday but trying to pretend I don't care today.
Anyway! Turns out I can't read and I thought the railscape race was on sunday this coming this weekend, when actually it's on saturday. So I can do it after all! Who wants to get the train out there with me? -

Cheapo lock laces from eBay (£0.99 per pair, got 10 pairs). Took a while to arrive from China (3 weeks or so, as advertised) but perfectly good. Just used them to re-lace my usual running trainers and just tweaking them to perfect the comfort.
Wondering if I should do the 5-a-side football boots; I doubt the toggle will cause any pain if I lash the ball right on that bit.
-
• #9721
I think you'll want proper laces for the football because of the lateral movement.

Yes, the more I think about it the more it's just a bad idea. Optimising nothing for lots of downsides.

Completed my first half marathon yesterday - The Royal Parks Half!
Did it in 2.05:33 which I was pretty pleased with as my last run was over 2 weeks ago. A bottle of wine the night before and whole load of carbs made for a bloaty start.
The crowd was amazing and really helped you through the last 3 miles. Although the 800m finish was the longest I've ever run! Sore knees today - a few snaps:

No.....you got a pic?
Forerunner 110 arrived. Much nicer than my old 405. Will give it a first run out at 5-a-side tonight.
Run yesterday onto Putney Heath and back produced a new 5k PB, it helps that the weight is beginning to come off.
