  • Can't you just go in a different gate? How rigorously is London police?

I've got in on a moody number before - wear a bin liner over it and flash it (the number, you big silly) while smiling and giving them some chat. Mind you, I did bail at 23 to avoid being snatched by bandit sweepers in front of that house of ours that that posh bint squats in.

  • Good luck runners. You're all going to nail it and have one of the best day's running in your entire life.
Remember to smile and enjoy it! The crowds are all there for you.

  • Beautiful beautiful morning for it.

Good luck. Enjoy. Push through that grim moment just after mile 20.

  • I'm actually quite jealous of you all, it's beautiful here too.

    Have a great run.

  • Good luck to all the marathon runners today. Xxx

  • Good luck to all the crazy forum marathon runners today. I'll look out on the tv for you.

  • Good luck everyone. Just dropped off Mrs Dooks in Blackheath as she's on charidee duty all day. I remain in awe as ever of anyone who volunteers and actually get though that shit. I've been running three years now and it' still way beyond anything I could conceive of being able to do. Respek.

  • Have a great run everyone - a perfect day for it.

  • Bon chance everyone

  • I've just realised I'm probably a bit late to say good luck now so, er, a preemptive well done! Seriously well done on all the work you guys have put in on training though, really impressive.

  • Enjoy everyone! Great day for it

  • Run dem?

It's a local running crew. We gather and basically spend the whole day trying to encourage as many people as possible. It's a great spot, mile 21 is when for many it really starts to hurt and becomes a mental game. All are welcome to come down.

  • RSI on the tendons or you have damaged the cartilage are my guesses. Where is the pain in the knee?

yesterday it felt like it was inside + on the outside of the knee. It's a bit better today, more of a twinge behind it, so hopefully it's just something that's been pulled.

Good luck to everyone today btw, cracking day!

  • Mo looks less efficient than the likes of Kipsang. Too much upper body movement.

  • Think I just saw Hatbeard on telly. Is he wearing a neon green top?

  • i could show thing him a thing or two. my upper body is motionless right now.

  • Well done, Ciq! Very impressed by the consistency. According to the official stats, you never went above 5:39 per k or below 5:32. Ofc, those are averaged over 5k but still.

  • Very impressive time by the hat wearing bearded one. You did look strong when you ran past me but that was about 400 yards past the start line....

    Well done!

  • Sound's like there was all variations of joy and pain going on at vlm
Just respect from me- post up your stories!

On a lesser note, did the 8 k BOK trot in the forest of dean, stayed resolutely in a positive mental thought loop despite some tricky slopes
Great event about 400 competitors some of my regular race mates who I beat!

  • Hope everyone had fun in the sun, well done to those who did well :)

  • I was expecting more of the same misery I had in Paris last week, but it felt good. Amazing crowds and it's great to know where you are all the time. Had to walk parts of it but ran almost all the distance. Somehow managed to pull out a marathon PB by a minute - although that meant turning myself inside out on the last 1.5 miles. I'm still slow by most peoples' standards but today I felt great and loved it.

  • Nice one Sparky

  • (was 6/ 30 on my 8.2 k, race)

i was running today with Kipsangs words off twitter on my head-
something like "when youre running dont think about the time you need, or who else youre racing, just see how youre body feels and run"
    ACE
    let hear some marathon stuff,

  • Big muddy hills in the Dales today. No tech wank, just some flapjack.

Well done marathonners! When does the London ballot open or have I fucking missed it?

  • did the thing in 3:52:47 including an extra half mile of dodging and weaving according to mr garmin.

no wall, no blisters, no struggle, just easy running tbh... if anything i was mostly frustrated that I was forced into plus 9 min miles for a lot of the course and had to make it up when the roads widened.

knew i was easily sub 4 hours when i got to the finish but i also managed to sneak in under the official 4 hour gun time as well in 3:59:40 from the official start. which included a little bit of extra effort on the last stretch. still had a little left in the tank.

basically my training was spot on. can't find a single fault with my prep at all. hansons marathon method == approved.
