^^ I did look at those for the marathon they're kind of the running equivalent of a cycling jersey.

The only drawback of Richmond Park for running is the fact that there is only one water fountain which means that you can only drink every 7 miles unless you carry something. Moar Tesco in RP!
I've run out of vaseline so I'll just coat the seams with vicks.

don't you have a camelbak?
-
• #8605
Yup. But I prefer to run without it. I'll take it with me today. I ran 10 without water the other day and it sucked balls. I'm a sweaty bastard...I need a lot of fluid sadly.

I've been running with my Wind jacket on recently. Just for the pocket. Might try these.
I have to run in undershorts because of my epic thighs (i'll post pics of bleeding inner thighs later). So I was thinking of cutting the liner out.

If you can pour some sand in afterwards. That might help smooth them Down.

Its because your thighs are epic? When I've had that Jana has always called it ''fat rash''.

that reminds me I still have a spare salomon skin pro 3 vest if anyone wants it.
this one in grey/blue...
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/salomon-skin-pro-3-set/rp-prod87268£35 but you'll need to buy your own bladder (a 1.5l/2l hydrapak style one will work so long as the hose has a quick release)
something like this should be fine...

Epically fat.

Phone, emergency gel or two, water, and sometimes a stowable jacket.
I'm very much not running around London though.

^ Ha! Good point. Last time I went out into the Norwegian countryside I came face to face with a family of elks. Amazing creatures but a bit scarier than the wildlife on offer in London.

any recommendations?
looking for new trainers, I overpronate and need a lot of cushioning.
Currently using
1.Nike Structure for short distances, feel fast and light but not cushioned enough, wouldn't like to wear them for anything over 5 miles- Mizuno wave Nirvanna, have worn several pairs of them but now I've tried something else they feel like clogs, foot position seems to encourage plodding [maybe because the heel is so built up] but I feel no pain in them.
Want something inbetween, ideally, something suitable for longer runs [over 10 miles] but reasonably light.
if they were sub £100 that would be a bonus too. - Mizuno wave Nirvanna, have worn several pairs of them but now I've tried something else they feel like clogs, foot position seems to encourage plodding [maybe because the heel is so built up] but I feel no pain in them.

depends where I'm running to/from.
if I'm going out for a run near home, just keys usually.
if it's further afield or from work etc then I generally have what I'd carry whenever i leave the house (wallet, keys, phone)

you've obviously not ran in richmond park at 6am and suddenly realised you're completely surrounded by about 30 deer and a couple of stags and all that you can think of is the video on youtube of the guy hiding up a tree planter to get away from an angry stag.

actually the video was in bushy park but still...

I found myself in the midst of a large herd of red deer trying to cross the road in RP a couple of weeks ago. The herd was split and the stags were starting to get agitated...stamping feet and raising their heads to the sky to show off antlers etc. I decided to stop running and just walk really slowly around them. As I was doing this a fuckbunch of cyclists on TT bikes hurtled past and caused a mini stampede.
I don't mind admitting that I turtle headed a little.

That said, the deer are normally really placid and have no problems at all with a jogger plodding through their midst.

I once was listening to Music, running down a small trail. When a stag jumped out of a hedge less than a stride in front of me.
Then again I had the same thing in Henley-on-Thames with an adult kite.

Actually the worst experiance I had, is With the Canadian gease in Henley. They did'nt attack or anything. Just several hundred, stood totally still, watching, waiting.....

Well that was a fucking waste of time.
The fronts of my shins were so tight from the start that I had to abort. They went rock hard. Tibialis Anterior from memory? I tried stretching them out which eased them a bit but I'd lost the impetus to continue by then.
Fuck knows what has changed since my last run. Usual routine. Perhaps shoes tied a little tighter. Last run was last Friday and was a fast 5km. Hmmmm.

sorry for the spam, but does anyone want a Garmin forerunner 305 - its big but very very good! includes speed, distance, time, HR with included strap, cadence with non included sensors and is more than capable of being both a running and bike computer.
Comes with charger, cradle, soft premium HR strap (about 2 months old), and a quick release strap with a quick release bike mount.
just bought a 910xt as I'm a slevless and the 305 doesn't do swimming...
Don't know how much to ask but given what it comes with does £70 sound fair?

its pretty chilled in my limited experience (and compared to the Paris one!) especially as you are going nice and early, enjoy, try not to get suckered into buying too much crap!
Rub the seams, especially the crotch, with tiger balm. They'll be fine.
